My name is Dan, I joined this community hoping to get some tips on how to improve my SEO skills.
I've been lurking around before I made this account, and there's definitely a lot to learn.
So I guess I'll see you around.

ya
definitely we will be here and whatever we can do for you we will do

Welcome! Definitely check out the Whitehat SEO forum for a lot of great information. There is also a Blackhat SEO forum if you are feeling that route!

Best of luck!

Not sure if I messed something important, but I went through the rules, and all the posts directed to new users, and this is all I found about the posting limitation: "Again. until you have spent time reading and learning something about methods already offered and discussed throughout BHW, there is no reason to post a reply, and especially no reason to start a new thread. " Can anyone tell me how long is this supposed to take?

Hi Dan and Welcome

Don't think that rule is time related - IMO just means don't sign up a start posting useless replies to threads like "cool share, thanks" or "I agree, that happened to me too", and don't sign up and start a thread titled "Best way to make $50 a day" etc.

It just means reading a lot and digest the info already here, before you start posting I think...but of course that doesn't count for an intro thread :)

I am aware of what it means, but I always get an error when I try to post on some threads (probably those that aren't for general talk or w/e).

Here's a quote of the error: "You are trying to post a message that has triggered our moderation system. Double check our rules to make sure you are posting something that is appropriate. We don't tolerate any selling, posting contact information, urls, swearing, giving thanks ect... Please understand this is to protect our community from spammers. Once you have been a member of BHW for a longer period of time this limit will be removed."

And I believe there are no words that aren't allowed by the moderation system, so it must be that "longer period of time thing" but I was unable to find anything regarding that.
