hekke's Massive Site in 2 Months Journey

Hey, before I start this journey I want to clear some doubt about my previous journey. I stopped it because of the niche completely died, I make $10 a month with it right now. I always believe that you should just focus on the positive stuff in order to remain positive and pushing forward, therefore I decided to not write a long post explaining the situation as it won't do any good for me nor my business. I rather work hard on my other sites and focus on other projects! I made a great ROI on over 2000%, I am happy about it.

However, in this journey I will not answer ANY questions regarding the previous journey. I just want to focus on this journey in this thread.

So what is this journey about?

I got a site, with 36,000 words of content currently getting me 50 organic visitors a day. I want to quickly expand this website and plan to do so over the coming two months. I have a full-time writer writing 5,000 words (and publishing it) on a daily basis to my websites. That equals to roughly 150,000 words per month. I plan to go full force into this site for 2 months which means that I will, after this journey, end up with a site with a little bit over 300,000 words - I would call it a beginning of a massive site.

I will target a lot of keywords that have barely any competition in order to get the most out of this, sure, most of these keywords might only have a few hundred searches per month but if we multiply it with the amount of articles we will have on the site, it should accumulate into a nice amount of daily hits towards the website. I have written a guide on how I find niches (here). This site is about a broad niche, think in terms of "farming", "computers" or "fitness". A niche where I have a lot of keywords to target, and where there are tons of products to review!

The cost of this journey will land on around $3600 for all the content unless I raise my writers "salary" during the time we are doing this journey. At the moment he is writing for $12/1000 words (including posting), a fixed price, as there are a lot of contracts and things that need to be fixed before I can hire him on a salary-based or officially "full-time" job - I haven't had the time to get to that point just yet.

What is the goal of this journey?
The goal is to grow this site and to take you with me on the journey. I don't know if I have seen anyone try this in at least our community, to put up a site and write a ton of content for it and see what happens - at least not publicly. Of course, the goal is to make money and hopefully turning profit out of this - but this journey will not be that focused on backlinking and doing SEO, rather just see how it goes with just targeting low competition keywords with fairly low amount of searches. I think I will target everything I stumble upon over 100 searches a month, but also try to find some related keyword for each article - 10 keywords per article or something like that.

The site is currently 4 months old, got 23 articles and there is 36,000 words on the site.



The site is getting 850 organic hits per month currently.



Let's see where we can take this site during the next 2 months! I am excited!

First off thanks for putting up this journey. For this site can you elaborate on what SEO strategy you are using ? Has the site already got backlinks ? are you using a private PBN ? or is this purely content with no backlinks being generated to just determine if lots of content works by itself ?

Looking forward to seeing how this plays out.

Yay another journey by Hekke! My 1st amazon site started earning because of your previous journey. It only has less than 20 pages with no backlink at all.

It make me realize that you can just focus on on-page and still ranking + making money as long as you picked the right keyword.

Now, i already have semrush/LTP and will start find low competition keyword like you and start a broader niche site.

Question:
What's your homepage looks like? is it like a collection of blog posts or a clean category lists "best of article" like thesweethome/thewirecutter?

I will purely add content, and see how it performs. I have a guest post linking towards the site that I got (as my writer own a niche related blog) but other than that I don't have any other links. I will stick with just doing content for these two months and then see if I can snatch some outreach links for the first time ever! I will not buy nor build links towards this site

Wow that is so great to hear! My homepage have a slider with recent articles as well as a blog roll under it. I want to make it look good before I do any outreach, but as of now I will just keep it really simple. Therefore a slider and a blog roll with 5 latest posts will do for the homepage.

Yes, Amazon will be the main monetization method but I am open to implement Adsense later on or even other affiliate programs. It totally depends on what we write about. If I get a chance to send some traffic to a CPA offer in an article, I will take it (if it is beneficial for the reader)


Thanks for all the support guys. I will make a update per day with the amount of content uploaded, as well as some traffic updates. The site currently makes me $25 per month, so I won't really update you on that part on a daily basis. May be on a weekly basis or if something cool happens. I won't really track any keywords, rather just find easy low competition niches and target it - set and forget. This is for me a long term project so I don't want to spam it with links that can end up getting the site penalized or anything like that - the site should rank mainly for the huge amount of content I will have on it as well as only targeting low hanging fruit that isn't really targeted by others!

Update 1

For today I have prepared work for my writer until Monday as well as helped him with some questions regarding publishing format for this site. The post count is now up in 43,000, which is a increase of 7,000 words since yesterday. This was because of that we had some that was drafted as my writer wasn't so sure about the format for this particular site.

My writers computer broke today so he couldn't post anything today, he wrote 5,000 words on his tablet tho so he will probably get himself a new computer tomorrow and then we should be good to go again posting on a daily basis.

Stats of 10th of February

Clicks: 0 (-5)
Income: $0 (-$9.36)
Content: 42,000 (+7000)
Organic visitors: 51 (+1)

Inside the parenthesizes I compare the stats to previous day. In the end of each month I will summarize these stats.

I don't really know if it is that interesting to see a day-to-day update on this site. Maybe a weekly update would fit better for this journey? Let me know what you think would fit the best!

Following this, literally doing the exact same thing as you lol. Got $1500 set aside to put into it initially, started sending jobs out to writers today. I plan to buy the domain and the theme over the weekend and start adding content as it comes in.

Processed almost 90,000 keywords now for my project, got about 7000 ear marked for articles.

Really looking forward to seeing how both mine and yours turns out! Only thing I can see different if you said you will use Amazon where as I am using display advertising.
