Heath Ledger - No One Could Do It Better!

I know this isn't IM related, but I wanted to share this anyway.

When I kept seeing previews of "The Dark Knight"

I'm sitting there thinking.. "oh boy another Bat Man movie.. it'll be just like the rest and disappoint me." Well I actually went to see this one and.. damn..

Heath Ledger was without a doubt the most amazing Joker I've ever seen. His role and character was perfect and in my opinion no one could have done it better than him.

I want to go see the movie again just because of the Joker, the perfect villain. That was an acting job I could have never pulled off on my best day.

Gary Oldman could have done it better...they should have had him play two parts in the movie. He could pull it off he's that good! If anyone wants to doubt me for even a second, just watch any 2 of his movies back to back. Take your pick...

Everyone was crying foul when it was announced Heath taking the role of Joker. Heath > Jack.
 
I saw DK on Saturday and I have to say it was an awesome movie. Ledger's joker was INCREDIBLE! I'm thinking posthumous Oscar for that role. Don't miss this movie.
 
I think Heath Ledger will get the posthumous Oscar and rightly so. His performance in the movie was amazing and collectively Dark Knight was an awesome movie.

It took more takings in its first day then the original did in 3 months.
 
I havent seen it yet, but definitely will. I have not heard one negative comment on ledgers joker performance... I will see it just for that alone!

By far the best movie of the year and I am pretty sure nothing will beat it this year.

Its 2 and a 1/2 hours of complete brilliance.
 
Yep, i just saw it for the second time last night. Already #1 on IMDB.

dark knight shows just how bad those batman movies from
the late 80s were.
 
Dark Knight is not really a super hero movie. It deeper on some many more levels, other attempts pale in comparison. Very seldom does a movie portray real life as good as The Dark Knight. That sounds rather odd, I know. However Ledgers Joker is the reason this movie succeeds. There's a curious need to feel for the Joker. I found myself waiting anxiously when he was not on screen. Having a comical but vicious nature, Joker has no morals left. His method is simple, use anything and everyone to "kill the Batman" . Oddly, you sense that's not really what he wants. It's the chaos that ensues. His life was a ruined mess and his wish is to make the world exactly the same. Now, most villains resort to guns or explosives, but they're not "personal" enough for the Joker. Rather than use brute force continually, Joker works on your mind. Several times in The Dark Knight someone is forced to make a decision where there is no clear choice. Good and bad will happen no matter which choice is made. That is where the screenwriter excelled. We are all forced through life to make decisions. Very often than not, these decisions are not clear cut. In the end, The Dark Knight leaves us more shaken and confused than anything else. And this time around, that is a good thing.
 
Too bad he isn't alive to accept his awards, he'll be getting them.
 
Yeah thats true. He is a great loss to the movie industry and I hope he rests in peace.
 
I never liked Heath Ledger. The only movies I had seen him in were 10 Things I Hate About You, Patriot, and Knights Tale and frankly all those movies sucked. But after seeing Dark Knight I am now grieving his passing. He should def get the Oscar.

I think they should get Johnny Depp to try the Joker in the next Batman. He won't be as intense as Heath, but I think he'll pull it off. I think Daniel Day Lewis could play the Joker as well if not better than Heath but he gets so into his character that he'd probably end up murdering Christian Bale half way through the filming
 
I agree Heath was great, I've already seen it twice. Oscar worthy without a doubt.

I was kind of thinking more of a Brandon Lee (died during The Crow) comparison than Tupac.

I'd seen Heath before in several movies, The Brothers Grimm was terrible.

Have any of you read The Killing Joke? It's an old Batman graphic novel that has the Joker being really evil. I don't want to give too much away, but Batgirl is in it. I have about 10 first prints that I was going to sell on eBay when the movie came out but forgot about them.

Depp would be good, he's good at everything except Willy Wonka. I read somewhere that Paul Bettany, the albino from DaVinci Code, was originally going to play the Joker. He might get a chance in the next movie.
 
Johnny Dep as the joker.. what are you high?

Have you even see The Dark Knight? If you have.. you wouldn't be doubting how great his performance truly was in this movie.

I dont think he was doubting it i think he was just saying who should play him in the next movie :)
 
Personally.. I don't want Joker in the next movie.

I do want him in the next movie but without Heath Ledger playing him, the next actor to play him has some damn hard shoes to stand in and better wow and impress.

I'm just not a big Johnny Dep fan ;)

Or they could always bring Freeze back into the new movies. I always liked Freeze.

He's too old for the role of Joker. Plus getting another actor for Joker sounds gimmicky, kinda doesn't give respect to Heath.

Heard Two Face will be back for the 3rd movie, apparently he didn't die from the fall. :) (big big arguments about his death and funeral)
 
In the Dark Knight, they never actually had a funeral for him. They did have a viewing but they never did show a body ;)

I think he plays a pretty decent Two Face, but I don't want to spend the third movie staring at a man's jaw bone for half an hour.
