I think a journey post is long due. I was a student researcher studying Biomedical at a university. But just shy of few credits I had to drop out because of a damn medical condition. I have been working on a health related website since Feb. Its more like a passion than a money thing to me. Though money is always good
. I work really hard to find the best information that would be helpful the reader. I am pretty bad at getting stuff done by others, so I've written my own articles. About 40-50, never counted.
I have written most the content in a way that young generation (20-30 age group) would dig it.
Earlier Experience: I have been pretty much an internet person since childhood. I did those paid to click things like donkeymails, inboxdollars long time back when I was in 9th grade lol. Earning money online always fascinated me. When I went to college I started doing freelance writing and made some decent amount doing high quality writing. On many occasions I was paid up-to $25 for 700-1000 words since I wrote some real fine well-researched content (mostly health related). Though I left freelance writing about a year ago since it was taking up too much time. I also had a music website but that was just a hobby. Didn't monetize it.
What I have right now: I have a website with a 7 alphabet non-EMD. Though their IS a word related to health. And with advances in health research, it will just get increasing searches. I've tried to keep the website as professional looking as possible. First impression is everything when it comes to new websites (I think). No Ads on main page. The website has about 30 (500-800) word articles loaded up right now. Everything is indexed by Google. Need to submit sitemap to bing too. Will upload a article or two everyday and keep writing new ones too.
Getting it popular: I will be doing two things initially. First is SEO. The articles that I uploaded on website are only mildly optimized. Right now I am working to do the best SEO I can. For this I am using Google keyword tool and Google suggestions.
Second thing will be to get the twitter and Facebook group popular. For this I will probably use a service on BHW/Fiverr.
Meanwhile to get things rolling and see traffic behavior I have ordered 5k visitors from a service here.
Monetization: Here, I am a bit lost. I have been confused which strategy to apply. I have applied for adsense account and put the code on the website. But the account is on hold since many days.
In many of my articles I am planning to give a reference to some product relevant to the topic of discussion. I will use CJ for this. At least that's the plan. I have also been thinking about Viglinks. Any idea how it is?
I am not setting any money goal because I have no idea how it will go. But I think I will aim somewhere between $20 a day right now.
Lets see how this journey goes on. I am NOT going to quit on this until I start seeing some godamn cash in my account. I've always quit halfway through things. Not this time.
