Headway,Catalyst, Thesis or Genesis?

I'm a newbie but I'm definitely determined to make a magazine blog using one of these 4 frameworks. From what I've learned it's the best way for me to create something unique without knowing much about code. Granted knowing code is a plus but if I ever need help there are ways around things. That said, which framework would you go with? Out of these 4 my gut tells me to go with Thesis even though 2.0 gets a lot of bad reviews. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

I would go with Genesis
There are some great child themes for genesis available.
 
Do you know anything about Catalyst's Dynamik theme which can be used on Genesis?

No doubt Genesis! It is most cleanly coded wordpress framework. The design possibility with it unlimited. I am a wordpress developer and I have made 18 websites with Genesis. It is really the best. If you want to check the sites I made in it, just shoot me a pm.
 
I can not give you clue which is better. but i can say that almost all of my website using genesis framework.
 
Definitely, I would choose Genesis, too. If you want to use child themes, a lot of these are responsive themes. All my websites are on Genesis framework, and all are doing great.
 
I love the Genesis framework, have made more than 50 websites with it. The themes are clean and highly customizable, can be used for almost anything. Many of them can be used to make great-looking magazine-type blogs.
 
I personally use the Dynamik-Catalyst Framework. It takes a few hours to learn, but there are a LOT of resources available and guides that come with ordering the Framework. I use it for my sites and I love it. It makes building the wordpress sites really is, and also allows you to put your own CSS in...well it has a CSS mode available while viewing the site and you can insert custom CSS (it has the codes embedded) on the front-end of the site so you can view your changes as you make them (before you save it and put it live). It also helped me learn some CSS a lot quicker than just learning it on my own. I love it!
 
I actually like Headway but I agree with everyone else here that genesis is the best for this. It's always my "go to" theme, and it's actually really awesome for magazine style.
 
Catalyst all the way for me. If you want to go for Genesis, there is also Dynamik for Genesis available, which is made by Catalyst.
 
You better go for Genesis or Thesis. Matt Mullenweg- founder of wordpress has recommended Genesis. Multi-author blog like problogger is running on it.

Thesis is also great. Amazon, Mattcutts, Search engine land is running on thesis with no trouble. Its almost hack proof.
 
I have Headway and I don't think it is very user friendly. Have tried Thesis as well and it requires a lot more manual coding, in my opinion.

That leaves Catalyst, which I love, and Genesis, which I have heard good things about.
 
I have headway too ...its come along way but dont for one second believe that it is truly drag and drop......you need to know css and to get really custom some php.

they basically bailed on their original startup user base ...this combined with the fact that the owner is a cnut....not the kid ,but the old man.
they have no child themes ...and have since actually dropped child themes.( the ones they actually did release ...were well to put it mildly ...a friggen joke )

Genesis is the way to go
 
Genesis all the way. Now even Catalyst Developer has switched to Genesis by developing their own Dynamic website builder that works with Genesis framework.
 
I agree with many of the above posts. Catalyst is a go-to theme - very clean (if you can still get it!).
