I look for another hosting account.
I found hawkhost and I almost got there. Then I decided to test their support because of a very bad experience with an anonymous company in the past.

- Been trying to reach Live chat several times in 2 days - No one is ever available.
- Called their support number. Waited for 3 minutes and then a voicemail answered.
- Sent an email about 8 hours ago - No reply.

Is this something worth looking at? Do you host there? How is support? Speed? Uptime?

Thanks guys.

They are one of my hosts. I found them very reliable and fast.

I've only used their email support and they always answered within 12hours, no complaints there, to be honest.

Thanks. How is website speed according to [ www.iwebtool.com/speed_test ]?

I think of getting an account there because they seem NOT to be a part of the hosting syndicate (Justhost, bluehost, iPage.. Etc.).. (1 Company 200 brands).

I traced rout to your website (thanks).. and the routing is very good. I am not from the US and reach softlayer (which provides them the hosting platform) pretty quickly. I'll get an account and update this thread. Worse case I'll get a refund.

Thanks guys.

I just signed up for one of their accounts with the discount code whts50v2 which gave me 50% off. Got their smallest package for 19 bucks / year with the discount code - pretty sweet. Instant account activation after payment - sweet! :)

Will leave a review in a few days.

I have been using hawkhost since last year and I am happy with their costumer services. I also use their another hosting, froghost. Froghost offers unlimited bandwitdh and space.

I registered and user 5677 which is 25% recurring discount.
In a 2 years period we got the same deal pretty much. I think long term. But thanks for the heads up.

So far the speed is not amazing. But the website is not fully configured. It is way, way way way faster than coolhandle which is an absolute garbage.

Bross, another good host is KnownHost. They have a shared hosting account for $60 per year and the support is always good for me. They do not offer unlimited everything, but the hosting has been good for me.

I have been hawkhost for 3 years. Very good uptime and responsive support. I don't use their live chat since it's always offline. I usually submit a ticket and they always respond quickly and in a courteous manner.

Another great host is downtownhost. They may not have the lowest price but they have fantastic support. I think they still have a 30 days guarantee.

I used HawkHost for one year and found it very slow. Cheap but slow.

I canceled my subscription and now I am using Hostgator. More expensive but faster.

Hawkhost is a nice small hosting company, you should checkout Hostwinds much faster than Hawkhost

I always wonder why people want to host with companies, that do not bother to answer to new customers...

I got another account with them yesterday. The new account being one of their bigger accounts and the server the account is on is terribly slow. The load on the server is sometimes through the roof.

So if you need your site to run blazin fast maybe look elsewhere as your account could be placed on a server which is already cramped with customers.

Ive never hosted with them. I personally host with Meteor Pages. They dont have live chat, but man, I usually get support responses within 20 minutes Via Email. I have found them very useful.

You can look them up on google.

for hawkhost do you pay for 1 month at a time or an entire year? I just tried to signup and it's saying my billing has failed.. but if it's just charging for 1 month it shouldn't be from NSF.
