Please help to get over this. I am relatively a newbie in building site of any sort, just learning some stuffs on that. I just finished a wordpress hosted blog and would like to add my adsense code but have been confuse.

Please can you give me a clear step by step info that. I would like to have the ads at the top and the 2 sides of the blog. Please help me.

Please i cannot post any information concerning the site here, but it's a wordpress theme. If i can just know where to paste the code i generated from my adsense area. Whether thru the widget or theme editor, i want info to get it right. Or if there is any plugin that will work.

Log into adsense and create an ad. Then take the code it gives you and go to appearance, widgets within wordpress. add a text widget to the sidebar and put your code in that.

Okay will try this, hope i can use the widget to post this code any part of the site?

I forgot you need more posts to use the PM.

There are tons of plugins that you can use for adsense widgets. Two that I use are ad manager and datafeedr.

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/advertising-manager/

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/datafeedr-ads/

Also widgets are only used in the sidebar (or footer if your wordpress theme allows it). To post within articles it is a bit different.

If you want to post ads above the content you need to insert the code within the single.php template of your theme.

If you tell us what theme you are using for your site it would be easier for us to help you.

This is the name of the theme I'm using CLG LAW 01 by Criminal Lawyer Group. Hope that will be enough to give me the relevant info. I want to add the adsense code to monetize the blog ASAP.

Well, Milly gave you some pretty solid advice, the theme you use shouldn't matter too much aside from the size of the ads you create (make sure they render okay in the space alloted).

I would just add one more ad$ense plugin you might consider, as has been pointed out you can paste your ad$snse code into a widget easily within worpdress, and if you want to embed ads in posts and/or pages try one of the plugins Milly suggested or this one:

http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/all-in-one-adsense-and-ypn/

peace - gregs.

You can add the code that you get from Adsense to your theme - the theme comes with a few PHP files that you can easily edit with a text editor, so for horizontal ad, you can add the code to the index or the header files, and for vertical choose the sidebar.

Of course, you can use Adsense ready plguins, but for me playing with the php files is much cleaner and easier.

Okay good guys, i like all your contributions. I am working from the idea i just got here and even learning how to manipulate stuffs with the plugins. I will tell you what have got when i am done. It all working out now.

We get it, advertisements are annoying!
