Having multiple wordpress sites, Questions

Okay i began setting up my first Wordpress site for a new project that will have multiple wordpress sites all on different domains. I will use the same theme (Modified Heatmap) on all of them. Is there any way i can preload all my plugins and theme i will use so that i can just drag and drop in ftp and its ready for content?

I don't think there is any drag and drop way of doing it, unless you write a program... :idea:

The closest you can get is dragging your files into another folder on your computer and back up your database. That way you will only have to make a few small changes. But that is just a noobs opinion

You can make a back up of it, then crate a database for your new domain then copy everything over using backup buddy wich can be found here:


Very easy and takes about 10min per site.

This is a good tip...depending on how many sites you have it may be a good idea to implement or not. I have a bunch of WP sites and use the same theme for 90% of them. I'm familiar enough with the site now that it doesn't take more than a few mins to be "set up". OP, you may find the same result as you go along.

Blogzapper is another "premium" plugin floating around that claims to do this as well. Basically, its point is to set up one blog the way you want it and then it will copy the entire site, db and all. During the duplication process, it asks you for the domain specific information and db name/user/pw so those things are still unique

I used it and found it difficult but I was only trying it for one site so it was just as easy to dupe the site manually than go through that zapper process but for multiple sites it might be a good choice
