Having a hard time finding a profitable nice that I'm passionate about.

So I read the post by Candybar and I interested in getting back with niche blogging. The problem is finding a profitable niche that I want to talk about. Can you guys maybe help me? Here is a list of things that I'm passionate about: graphic design, photography, electronics, dancing, singing, acting, "glee", taekwondo -- but I feel like those aren't that profitable and how can I generate articles from those vague topics. Please help!

Hey mate. Im new to all of this so take whatever I say with a grain of salt.

Photography, Electronics and Taekwando - just to name 3 of your topics, can all have tons of stuff written about them. Photography can have reviews of equipment, reviews of more famous photographers, guides etc. Electronics same -reviews - well basically look at gizmodo. As far as $ goes, probably easiest to monetize them with amazon.

First thing that came to my mind was reviews about taekwondo gear, afaik martial arts gear can be really expensive.
Write general articles about the niche to get more visitors and target more problematic keywords ;)

I second that! taekwondo definitely sounds like a good niche to work on.
 
Any and every niche can be monetized.
It is up to you on what approach you take.
Some might be harder than other, but whats sure is that you will monetize harder if it is something you like/know.
 
But then it's those types of niches where you feel like you've wrote about everything after a while. I'm thinking about just starting an authority site of a category -- but I can't get my mindset out of the weight lost niche
 
So let's say my authority site is about photography. Then I do KW research on different elements of photography and post articles (such as guides, famous photographers, digital photography, etc.) -- Would that work? But there aren't many cpa products for photography.
 
Graphic design seems like it would be the most profitable. Graphic Designers definitely need structures that they can work with and such so maybe you could provide good structure pieces for others to work off of... just an idea.

The main thing is you have to decide how you are going to monetize the site before you create it.

I'm looking to use CB as well. There aren't any products for GD on clickbank.
 
I've decided to make my niche "digital photography" -- it's specific, but not too specific.
 
Write articles about prima ballerinas.

Put your own twist and show videos with nude opera dancers.

In your school, do they have life photography classes? If so, you could do nude photo shoots with the life models, and do interviews with them about how they feel about your finished work.

You already have your own answers. You need to hit a niche, and SOLVE people's problems with a SOLUTION to their problem that they will pay for. Think on it, you can't "teach" graphic design to targeted people and charge for it? That's a idea, popped into my head along with the BSTS and traffic needed to make it work. Took 15 seconds to mental map it together...
 
Graphic design isn't all that bad. You should start out with a blog, giving advice daily, then create a graphics design course that you'd then pitch slowly/subtlety to your visitors. If you look at tutsplus.com they started off as a blog then started creating courses and eventually started hitting millions - they're more about web design though.Anyway, if you already have the experience in graphics design then you can get creating your course immediately. If not then you'd best start with a blog and learn as you advise daily. That's just my two cents. Though graphic design, as a profession, seems to be dying down tremendously; if you want my advice, it would be to maintain your graphic design expertise, learn web design, and then begin to weave them together - graphic designers turned web designers tend to have a good eye for aesthetic design, so that'll be a plus for you.

Thanks guys but I kind of just want to stick with Adsense and affiliate marketing with the authority site. So basically I'm going to buy an aged domain that says digital photography since this is my niche. It's not too broad or too specific. Then I'm going to some keyword research with ultimate niche finder to find low competition keywords and write articles for them. Then I'll probably just back link each article page link instead of just the authority site itself. So it'll kind of be like micro niche tactics but inside of an authority site.
 
I'll probably use click bank and CPA offers to include in the site as well.
 
Are you serious? Photography is huge right now, especially now that people are seeking out vintage camera (hot trend now with hipsters and young professional hobbyist).

Graphic design you could probably incorporate your love of photography into that. Might be more profitable, in fact this morning, I saw a post by a group growing in popularity that remade an old PC game looking for a graphic designer. You could also design your own sites and sell the web design. There's probably many ways to make money with graphic design.

I recommend even if you're not sure how to many money from the niche, set up your own blog or self-hosted site in a portfolio format. So people can see your work and contact you for jobs.
 
Yea! Thanks! I actually have my own portfolio and I used to do logo design, but i halted it as I'm currently in college with a focus for graphic design. Right now I'm getting back into IM because I want to have a secondary income to go along with my part time job.
