Have you ever ranked???

Ranking a one page website was a breeze some months ago. Nowadays its not so easy. You can rank it, but not on the first positions of the SERPS. What you can do is to have a website of one main/important page (this is usually your homepage) and atleast 10 inner pages (contact us, privacy policy, terms and conditions, some blog posts). Then you can point the majority of your backlinks to your homepage and a fraction of them to your inner pages. You have to be sure that you are following some basics (I call them logical) rules for anchor text and platform diversification.

it's easy, just learn seo, seo in a nutshell is off-page optimization and on page optimization.

Its get 3,600 monthly searches but the #1 website ranking only has about 100 backlinks. Which is nothing. I can get 50 pr 3+ sape links and crush their 100 backlinks.

Certainly.

A large number of my sites (that rank well) are what would be considered 'thin' sites - single page, with maybe 300-500 words, and just a privacy page linked from the bottom bar.
