There are a lot of rags to riches stories on BHW. I was curious if any of you have ever been homeless before. I'm extremely thankful to have grown up in a nice suburban city in California as a kid and have never had any problems with poverty. Have you ever been homeless before? What was your story? How did you bounce back and get back on your feet?

5 years ago I was making $10K a month spamming SEs (promoting pron back when it was still a going concern). Then I suffered a severe head injury and basically lost it mentally. I don't know if it affected my intellect or not (it probably did in some way, I just don't want to admit it to myself), but it most definitely made me lose the plot temporarily. I couldn't focus, couldn't concentrate, couldn't plan for the future at all - I lost what psychologists call "executive function." My income rapidly plunged to almost zero and the whole time I was blithely not worried about it. Even though I knew intellectually that I was in deep shit and could see my life falling apart, this lack of concern for the future meant I just wasn't worried about it for some reason.

I ended up literally homeless after I couldn't afford my apartment at all and sleeping in my car. After a brief period the extreme suck of the situation permeated my consciousness and I knew I had to do something about it. The specific moment was one morning when I was huddled under my blanket in the back seat. I was woken up by a group of office workers walking past the car on the way to work and laughing at me - it was then that I realized what a hopeless and ridiculous situation I was in. I managed to get a job as a copywriter for one of the adult companies I had promoted as an affiliate, moved into the cheapest single room I could find and slowly started to get back to work. It took months and months for my brain to come back to normal but eventually I got back into the SEs, quit the copywriting job and started making a living as an affiliate again, and here I am. Things aren't going too badly.

Ok i will share my stor and try not to get sentimental:

1. Did school
2. Started my apprenticeship
3. Had problems with my father
4. Kicked out of home
5. Kicked myself in tha a##
6. Continued my apprenticeship
7. Searched for a new flat

I never have, thank God. And I hope I will never be.
In a world like this, you never know what expects you tomorrow.

No, but I wonder if I might be soon.

Not making enough dough from my affiliate stuff.

Living in one of the most expensive cities in the world.

Can't get a job in this economy. I can't even get a shit one because I'm "overqualified".

It's kinda ridiculous because I'll be the only homeless person I know with an automatic recurring income. The only problem is that its not enough money to live on to pay for roof over your head and food.

I was at 16, although i haven't quite got the riches part yet! haha

Yup, couple of times, first time sucks but good for the mind when you realised you can switch it up quick.

I spent my last cash on a suit and went and sold it face to face.

I grew up watching both of my brothers being kicked out back & forth,My brother was homeless at 16,he lived at a park for a while, even during winter, idk how did he manage it. Now that im older its crazy how i see they weren't doing anything wrong, Because im older and all i do is focus with school and IM,never have time to mess around or anything but its the crappy "paps"... Just last year both of my brothers lived in a car and told me all about it,And it motivated me alot to start working harder in IM because i dont want to ever go through hell like that even though im technically homeless right now but i have a place to sleep.
We all have the opportunity to make a decent income and not be homeless,Im confident i can do it and im sure everyone else can!

My family weren't the best either. My parents split up, and had issues and arguments and etc when I was younger. We ended up moving from Manchester to London.

And then more issues and now London to Scotland. My Mum wasn't rich. We had issues, and we didn't have houses to stay and etc. This was before I was making good money from IM, and trust me, it isn't a good feeling. What made me get on my feet was the fact that I couldn't sit there and just watch our family struggle. And I'm glad I made the right choice.

We fall for a reason. We fall to learn to pick ourselves up again. (BATMAN QUOTES FTW!).

Never been homeless, but I've had many times lately where I had $0 to my name. Went from a broke programmer at 18 to making a couple million a year at 21 after discovering Blackhat marketing. I made so many stupid decisions which cost me my business I had built up, and now, 6 years later I'm a couple months away from filing bankruptcy with almost a million in debt. I've lost every single thing I own of value. The downward slide has been downright rough but it's made me a better person.. My outlook on life and money has totally changed, and I know that if I keep working hard and putting myself in a position to succeed I will be able to duplicate my success even in a WH business.

As of right now, I haven't made anything in about 7 months, but I've been coding 6-7 days a week, many times 10+ hours a day during that time. Maybe I was too ambitious, and hopefully this damn project won't sink me (i.e. make me homeless) before I can get it completed and making money. But I do know one thing, I've never been homeless before and I always seem to pull something out of my ass in the nick of time.

Being at your lowest point motivates you fight that much harder to pull yourself back up, just like when those people laughed at you sleeping in your car. Damn, I can only imagine how that felt.

I have that's what I get for relying on family that I thought was truly my loved ones, I almost can write a long story or film about it! Best advice I can give is learn all you can on BHW and find something that works rinse and repeat this way homelessness doesn't have to happen.
When I finally buy my first mansion I will kindly send them some wonderful photos in the mail with a great Thank u/F*ck u card and a dollar bill. =)

Was homeless at 19 for a year and half, literally sleeping rough. Mydad was a complete A**hole so I made my self homeless. It wasn't nice but I felt safer than being at home, then one day I bumped into a old friend he see the state of me and offered to put me up for a few nights. When I explained my situation to him he explained about a houseing association that helped criminals that were homeless and also drug addicts. By this point I was constantly getting arrested for shop lifting and I was also doing speed (anphetamin) so I poped into there office. 6 weeks later I had my own accomadation with a support officer to help memanage bills and also to help me get of the drugs and make sure I was staying out of trouble. 5 years later I now have my own council place, girlfriend who things the world of me, a 1 year old pup that don't leave my side, a circle of friends I'd trust with my life and am well on my way to earning $$$ threw IM.

To anyone that is homeless and don't know what to do, search google for houseing associations or homeless shelters and see if they can help. No one deserves to be homeless and if you push and push you will get somewhere in the end.

What do you mean the economy is bad? I thought that was in 2007/08? Or are you just using it as an excuse because you're not trying hard enough? ;)

I know at my offline business, over 20% of our positions are open. We are desperately in need of staff. I'm from Canada, and the US isn't a whole lot different. We're already offering the highest pay around, but it's been really tough for us to find qualified help. I don't know if I believe the economy is still bad. And in the US, I speak for Florida at least, because I know for a fact, the house prices are going back up.
