Do you guys still find that backlinks from Web 2.0 properties still carry as much juice as before?

im seeing some of my sites which have many web2.0 in their backlink profile losing rankings and am wondering if there is a correlation

Nope, in my eyes Web 2.0's aren't worth the effort or time and haven't been for quite some time.

You can find a better use of time, energy and resources than crappy Web 2.0 links.

Do your 2.0s carry further tiered links or are they orphaned?

my 2.0s are all manually made as a part of my Tier 1 layer, with a supporting Tier 2 layer of relevant and contextual links generated by GSA SER

i asked this question on Stackoverflow and some white hat guy told me web 2.0s have been heavily nerfed, so i would like to confirm that here

I find some web2.0s to be pretty crap for ranking...Weebly, Tumblr, webs.com, Yolasite, Snappages, beep but I guess it depends on how much content you put on them but I now avoid those I have mentioned but again, it may be different from from one person to another.

Such as? Anything other than PBN's?

No, it still gives you nice boost up in overall results but few things keep in mind.

1. Add lengthy content with targeting your keyword in Title + within content - 600 words or 1000 words - Tier 1

2. Provide Contextual Links - I use PR2+ Links Only here - Point at least 1k links to your T1 - Tier 2

3. GSA Spam Blast - Tier 3

P.S Your Tier 1 must be done manually and treat like Money site and see, the result after 1 month. Add at least 1 content in each week. I still highly prefer to use Web 2.0 posts or High Quality Guest post rather than PBN

Hi, do you mean if I have 200 Tire 1 links, than I should create 200X1000 Tier 2 Contextual links to them? So many much contextual links, how to create them? Thanks,

First off 200 Tier1s done manually will take some time. But if you do have 200 tier1s then create 1-3 manually spun articles with high uniqueness (above 85%) and use those with GSA. One manually spun article of 500-700 words usually takes me around 2-3 hours.

There's the opinion, that Web 2.0s have been nerfed exactly because people try to exploit their website's authority to boost their own money sites. A lot of sites seem to have been hit. A lot are still working for now, but I don't think building Web 2.0s is a good long term strategy.

I am using web 2.0 mostly on all my seo campaigns as tier 1 and they work pretty well, All my web 2.0 made with multiple pages 5-10 each, I am still making each with different ip and email, unique content, I post links after web 2.0s are indexed. Btw it very important what you use to power your tier 1 web 2.0, I do not use GSA blasts any more as tier 2 links, only tier 3 as long as xrumer and blog comments.

Add web2.0 as a part of your Link building strategy other than completely depending on it.
to answer your question, it still works....

I think that Google is moving more towards the quality vs. quantity. If you have some good Web 2.0 they worth but no make sense to have many.
PBN still working good, but it is easier now to be hit.

In every case to have a steady rank, you should combine different link sources, so some good web 2.0 you need it.

No at all -- Rather I point to all Posts (T1) of T2 Contextual Links.

Make sure you do drip feed as well.

All depend upon the Strategy. Testing is the Key Ultimately.

Those web 2's that weren't nerfed in the last penguin update will surely be nerfed on the next one.

I would avoid web 2's at this point. You will likely regret it with the next penguin update.

so in your opinion what links beside pbn or guest post works best atm?

Web2.0's shouldn't be more than 20% of your Tier 1 at max in my eyes. Some people use like 80% Web2.0's and then wonder what went wrong. Diversify. Also auto-spam tools like gsa to them only weakens them IMHO. Save that for far tiers.

If a persons rankings fall they always like to point blame and come up with theories. Web 2.0 sites work just fine and you want them as a part of your links. Place a lot of content on them and try to find do follow web 2.0 sites.

So what do you use to power up tier 1?

I am using sape links, wiki, social bookmarks, + I am building another banch of web 2.0 pointing my tier 1, this web 2.0 I blast with xrumer, gsa blog comments etc.
Additionali to web 2.0 as tier one I am using high quality contectual links, high quality profile links etc, you do not build only web 2.0 as your tier 1 links.
