TF/CF updates every week, check the backlink of your expired domain, the TF dropped if the most TF backlink has been removed.
It's easy to maniplicate the TF, put a strong backlink to a expired domain, and let it indexed by Majestic, after the expired domain is sold, remove that backlink, then go over again.

You checked both domains with and without www, right?

Also you can create dispute if you make payment by Paypal bro...
