hashtags and explore

so I know how to get top post on any hashtag that I use but I find it useless to be honest only use hashtags every few posts. I also think I learned how to get on the explore page I've been on there twice
whilst testing things out. BUT CAN SOME PLEASE TELL ME HOW USING HASHTAGS ARE EVEN WORTH IT?

I found out hashtags are extremely useless when it comes to gaining new followers because I tested different cases and it had similar results. I think for now hashtags function is mainly for few likes/followers from bots. and it has small/none influence for going explore.

You get on the explore page by people liking your content. The explore page is different for every single account. Instagram generates the explore page and suggests accounts based on your liking and searching

Hashtags are not worth it as soon as you get more than a few hundred likes, or I'd say even just 100.

I agree with this. If you start a fresh account and put a few hashtags, you'll see that the likers are botted accounts.

Hashtags are part of the game but it doesn't mean they don't work they get the ball rolling,
using the right hashtag can get you on top of a hashtag keyword with some good actvity
on your video or picture.. likes and comments its what makes your content good.. cheers.

If you are getting LESS than 100 likes, it might be beneficial. But they don't hurt to add either, as far as we know. But don't spend too much time trying to research for the one and only correct hashtag.

It is also based on what the accounts you follow are liking, which is why it is important to get some HUGE accounts to like/comment your photos. Because there is a big chance that people within your niche that follows that huge account would also be interested in yours.

I think one use that might go overlooked perhaps is utilizing hashtags internally not for gaining likes, followers, etc ..., but for basically tagging accounts, trending concepts, piggybacking, or otherwise showing relationships across accounts. Those with solid backgrouns in general social marketing might recognize how in the past folks use these types of "structures" to facilitate accomplishing specific goals.

Certain accounts might only be used for certain activities, tag and respond, etc... There are lots of things you might be able to do with hashtags. You just have to be sure you don't create massive footprints unintentionally.

Yeah, it's pretty clear that after a certain point of posting content, IG has pigeon holed your account. So your hashtags don't matter anymore, IG already determines what they think your content is and pushes it accordingly. I also think this is why some accounts do better than others, of course, the owners here will boast they know what they are doing, but really all it was is that IG got the content ID'd correctly, so your content gets pushed right. If IG doesn't ID your content perfectly, you get pushed to the wrong people who don't like/follow you that much.

I almost always use 20 tags per post. I've recently posted a few temporary pictures that I didn't tag at all. They got as many likes & as much interaction as anything else I post. You do the math.

Check the likes and see if it's from the same people as on the image with the hashtags. Most likely it is from the people that are following you.
Using hashtags gets your photo out there to the masses. Some will like it and follow you. That's all that hashtags do.

Now, your followers will always see your photos on their feed, so they don't need to be searching/looking at hashtags. People that don't follow you, get to find you via Hashtags.

True, but the impact is not that big, especially if you are already a bit bigger A lot of people also find you via the activity feed. Friends looking up what their friends are doing.
