Hashtag bug proves theory

Ok, so we have debated quite a lot whether hashtags brings any likes and followers.

Now, there is a bug with the hashtags, so the most recent posts on hashtags currently are 22 hours old. I've looked through my hashtags, and I'm "lucky" enough to be stuck on the top of some big niche relevant hashtags, but I have not gained anything! Contradicting, the first few posts on the same hashtags are SPAMMED with likes, the accounts usually got 30 likes, and suddenly they have 1000s on that one photo (they are probably banging their heads why).

This exactly proves, that traffic from hashtags is non-existent, and the traffic you get is from bots going through the hashtags. Hence top posts gets nothing and most recent gets a ton from the bots that (including the usual spam comments "nice shot").

True, but you can make a ton of cash being on the top of some... If only I bugged out on some of them

Hsshtags are for seaching with a # there not for anythink else there no magic power to enhance anythink from postioning anyrhink there just used for search querys , hashtag querys are not the same as seo keyword querys and got no seo power....could all change in the future...

Sure, I already make a lot of deals from appearing on top of big hashtags. This is one of my main sale points to new customers, that have no clue how Instagram works

I hope we'll see changed in the future, also so that Instagrams own search function will search through Bios etc.

I had a viral post from 3 days ago that was doing 200+ likes a day but today jumped to 1k. I have to agree there is some bot traffic involved as my follower rate (so far) didn't change much. I also got more comments but I can tell they're not bots because they answered the question in the caption.

When I first started with IG a few months ago I made a post saying that so much activity was just bots. It's pretty obvious if you do certain manual actions or browsing. You can see all the bots and also how to attract them, if you want.

The number of bots is way higher than people think.

the hashtag thing has been fluctuating for 2 days now. it's a mess. i hope you are right that it's a bug, instead of a 'fix.' it's already causing me a great deal of anxiety.

IG is fucking dead. if there is nothing new in the top search, everything is 20-week old, you might as well shut the fuck down!

Edit: Some of my toptags are stuck for 3 days now, 10-20M tags and it don't give me shit. (actually thats a small lie, some people do come over to like my 3 day old pic and follow me, but not a big thing anyway)

Myth busted.

I have the same, I'm actually happy we got this bug so we finally have clear evidence that hashtags work shit.

Same here, I'm publishing photo and top posts are the same (receiving 3000+ likes on my picture with "small" hashtags).

not completely fixed? its getting worse. ive not seen any attempt of repair.
i've lost about $1k so far because of the fiasco just because i couldnt get the 1st spot. "work shit?" yeah..
i reported the problem to IG. i wonder when they are even going to notice!
