Has YouTube Changed for Better or Worse?

it definitely lost its soul man. creators are forced to chase the algorithm just to survive now. i really miss the old days when people just uploaded weird passion projects instead of over edited mrbeast clones.

I don't have a firm opinion on whether YouTube has gotten better or not. On the one hand, it's true that the content has become better/more complex and more carefully produced. But I kind of miss the spontaneity of the old YouTube.

Nowadays, getting views depends entirely on controversial titles. it's not like it used to be. I miss the simple titles YouTube used to have.

Better platform, worse vibe IMO. YouTube is way better for creators making money now, but a lot of channels feel like they're built for the algorithm first and humans second. I miss the old random videos where nobody cared about perfect thumbnails, hooks or retention. Half of them were shit, but at least they had personality lol
