Hello there. When I looked at Semrush yesterday, I had a nice ranking. When I looked today, I noticed that my ranking has dropped. Both of my 2 sites have lost ranking. How is your ranking?

November update is called the SPAM update so its pretty obvious if you got some spam links or people rate you as spam in rating websites then most likely it's the reason.

so agree that you what you mentioned was pure bs?!

@cemsid - as the result of Nov update, did your ranking improve and then go down again yesterday? what has been the trend before and after nov update?
Does social media affect rankings? Yes but indirectly. Same here with review sites.

On November 12, I rejected 1600 spam backlinks with the disallow tool. Until yesterday, I was climbing the rankings. I went through a lot in 1 day. That's what happened once. Then I entered the article and went up the ranking again.

i think your disavow action is the culprit here. Remove your disavow file and your ranking should be back.

you should only use the disavow tool if you get a penalty action from google in your search console.

I think you are right. I declined because semrush called me spammy backlinks. but i went down a lot. If it continues like this, I will do what you say. Thanks for posting a comment :)

no third party site can tell you what is spammy or not. only google knows. ignore those third party sites when it comes to identifying spammy backlinks.

Then how to check?

if you are unsure of a impact of a backlink, then do a test. Pick a very stupid keyword, go to ranked page 70+, and pick a page that you can tell it is not doing any seo works. then point your backlink to it and see the impact in few weeks.

there is no public tool that can tell you with accuracy what is spammy or not. If you the actual tool, reach out to john mueller. I am sure he will be happy to share it with you.
