Wtf am I on about?? Dig this- I came across a post in a forum's General Discussion and someone had posted this link: http://www.ihateyoujulia.com/?id=36f581e3d23ab0d19a5a0d15fdf5aa81

It opens a website with this basic methodology:

1. Make it seem like a few "teaser" (no nudity) pics of an attractive girl are your "ex-girlfriend who's cheated on you", with a few more pics and a video locked from viewing.

2. A referral link appears on the page informing the user that if he can get so many users to use his referral link to view his site, the more pics and videos he gets to see of his "ex-girlfriend" in who knows how many perverted positions.

3. Load the site with ads and watch as thousands of people drive traffic to your site FOR YOU in hopes of seeing your "ex-girlfriend" naked spread eagle.

I saw the site and for a second I was like, "Hmm, gay..." but then it dawned on me. It's a blackhat site. Not super-genius or anything, but I was impressed. I had to post illuminating this method. There's some skill in developing a script that generates actual referral links on the fly with no account or anything (probably based on your IP or some cookie data) but other than that it's just social engineering. Very smart.

I'll bet you're exactly right. I'll bet the referral links are just random and there's no tracking going on whatsoever. I'm not willing to try so I guess we won't know until someone gets curious. Either way fuckin' brilliant.
 
This is a great concept. Got some ideas flowing round my head now....
 
Some times the simple ideas are the best - the beauty here is the simplicity of concept and execution.

Of course I joined this thread in the hope of flaming my ex's, but I guess this is ok too

Well, here's the "referral link" that I got, did you get the same one?

I was wondering how they would be able to generate unique "referral links" for people, or if he doesn't even attempt to hide the fact and just gives everyone the same one. Could add a bit more legitimacy to it if there where in fact different "links" for different people, but that would require putting some real thought into it, etc, and the obvious goal of this page is just to get people to fill out the email submit, so it's done all fast and dirty. :D

I'm sure you also laughed at what I saw (and thought it was pretty damn smart too!) if you looked in the same place that I looked, and that i'd expect others of this forum to have looked also ;) (yes, the **gg thing)
 
lol i already have the nudes of my current girlfriend. she knows if she cheats on me, or if after we break up she starts fucking any of my friends, shes going to finding herself on the web
 
When I visited my "referral" link using hidemyass.com, they revealed me all the pictures, but there is also a video...

Interesting.. so he's actually providing the pics after one fills out the email submit I guess.. I still wonder the whole legitimacy involved with the referral code though, on if that is actually working for him. Anyone that is more into coding can figure out how/if it's being done? Could use something like this :D

on a related note, i've seen at least one similar site before: a porn site that masquerades as a revenge site. in actuality, the girl is a model hired for the purpose. of course a subscription is involved
 
Pretty good idea. People have come up with similar ideas and they can work well.

Kewl that is pretty smart. ppl will just give the email instead of forwarding their aff. link given. RandomStuff the affiliate url I got was different.
LoL crsk8andsno56 was the pics worth a dollar and did you get the video also for the dollar, I'm assumeing you enterd your email?
