Has squidoo locked your lens?... get it back easily.

Not sure if many of you use squidoo for link building but with a little time lenses can build PR and even rank for keywords and drive traffic to your site. The down side is that squidoo can be a pesky bitch and lock your lenses after you have put a lot of time and work into them.

Here in the last month or so they seem to have been cleaning house (at least with the dozen or so lenses I have)... Over promotional, low quality content, blah blah blah, so we locked your lens and your fucked. I guess they are scared of pandas, penguins, and whatever google will pull from their ass next. Maybe the "platypus" update from a bunch of platypussies!

But anyway, to the point. If you get a lens locked all you really have to do to get it back with any PR and traffic from google is to delete it. You can do this in your account settings. Then use another squidoo account to create same exact lens (make sure url is the same)... Hopefully you copied all of your content and then you can recreate the same exact lens.

This has worked for me every time except when the subject matter of the lens has been flagged as spam in their system. In that case I play around with the keywords or content and can usually pass the filters in most cases.

Just thought I would post this for squidoo users.... Hope it helps someone out.

Thought one particular lense I just can't seem to get past filters. It is German content, but didn't had this problem with other lense's.

I guess any particular keyword is getting filterted.

I am not sure I completely understand or follow what exactly your staying. Are you saying you literally just delete, and than able to recreate and even use the exact same url? That's news to me...

I used to use Squidoo hardcore about a year back, and I lost a lot of lenses from them cleaning house for "bad topics" or low quality lenses, so definitely be careful. Some lenses lasted for several months totally fine, but then bam out of nowhere. I actually was even making a nice side income from their revenue sharing tier program just from the natural traffic, at my peak I made about $300 in a single month.

Yes that is exactly right. I have done this dozens of times. Once you delete the lens that url is up for grabs again. Just use a different account to remake it.

In fact, I used to search for lenses that had been locked and after some time squidoo would delete them. Then I would recreate that lens and all the pr and backlinks that the previous owner had built stayed.

Unforunately this doesn't work anymore because it seems the locked lenses stay locked instead of being deleted. Or at least the few that I had been keeping a check on had. But deleting them still works (until they read this post...LOL).

Yeah, I have heard of people making a couple of thousand a month from them. I was making 80 - 100 a month a while back from the revenue share and was selling a few products as well.

I just don't like putting a lot of work into something that can be taken away so easily. If you played by their rules and only used their monetization modules, I guess you could probably do all right. But they do hate affiliate links, especially clickbank.

I know they hated a lot of affiliate links but didnt know they hated clickbank I thought that was one they were ok with assuming you wrote enough about the topic.

Squidoo is terrible. They make use of all our effort in building contents to build up their PR but when we try to monetize our len, they will give us all sort of problems. Been a squidoo member for two years and they have deleted a lot of my lens. I might as well just focus on my own blog which will generate better income for myself.
