Has Instagram been making drastic changes?

screw them they went in a bad direction just like facebook, less people will use the app and be less active.

what's the source of the images .@heb?
I manually search for photos under the #(name of the city) and the ones under the location .. (name of the city), I post the ones that are with the highest quality and the ones that will trigger my fellow citizens.

At the end of the day all social media's priority is having an algo which will benefit the advertisers.

I've got bigger plans for my account, it will scale up beyond Instagram and wouldn't want to start it all over again..

Big Social Networks are always on a roll to improve themselves by adding new features, ways to prevent spam, strategies to improve user retention, faster technology and so on. You can never really rely on them and guarantee anything, so if your whole source of income depends on a particular network or it's loophole which can get fixed anytime, it's the right time to diversify.

Little update on the topic:
Since today is Sunday, the weather was bad all day long (snow storm), I decided to do a little test. I know what type of content gets my audience triggered and I knew if that wasn't enough, then I was surely in a trouble. So I've uploaded a photo of the biggest cathedral in the city (the shot is truly amazing and of high quality) exactly at 18:30 when my followers are most active and asked bunch of my friends to comment on the post. I did the same from my personal IG and in no time we gathered 15 + comments(including the replies I was doing),bear in mind that my friends, including me, have IG accounts with 25-30k followers. Well, okay, some of them have less than that but any engagement would have done the job. My girlfriend works at one of the biggest hotels in the city and posted a comment from their IG profile (I helped her grow that account, so she was basically obligated to do this favor for me). The social proof thit it's job and in no time other people started commenting. As a result of all of that, during the first 20 minutes, the post got 200 likes and was already in the TOP POST section and after the first hour it was at around 450 likes. At the time I'm writing this, 6 hours later, it has 1k likes and 35+ comments and I assume it will go beyond that tomorrow morning.
So, I'm still confused and don't know exactly if my profile had any restrictions from IG or just the audience didn't quite like my previous posts.

Because Instagram is owned by the Facebook owner who has sold his Facebook stocks worth a billions of dollars. As he knew Facebook was dying. Twitter is dead and Facebook will be totally dead in next few years face book is a fcking advertising spam social network. Too many ads omg.

Now the owner of Facebook wants make profit from Instagram. So the users will be forced to pay for ads to get more organic reach. They limited the organic reach without ads.

Apparently, it seems like Instagram will be an advertisement spam platform in almost next few years. It will be dead just like Facebook.

I don't think so, as I previously said, I could live with the fact they did not appreciate the posts, but I think that's not the case.
I had a chat with a guy, recently hit 10k followers, who had to start all over again with a new account. His theory is that now Instagram shows your posts to only 10% of your followers and if they react well to it, and only then, it will reach the home page of the other 90%. How does that sound to you?

Hey, even I heard it when I was exploring about new changes for IG. May be true! But this will technically effect automated pages more than the manual ones, cause there should be a real engagement with not less than 5-6 words and with no repeated # tags for continuous posts. In my opinion you must be using few of the same # tags for your continuous posts which the new algorithm may cut down the reach/engagement. Try to play around with different # tags with not more than 6 ( choose the best of best ones ).
Hope this helps!!

Hi, I'm growing IG acc for a month now follow/unfollow gained 4k+ followers from 0, and when I had 1k followers posts would get 200-400 likes since then I had no more than 300 likes although I gained 4x more followers, all this time a was thinking that my posting time is wrong, but reading this makes me really confused. Maybe someone could help me with post timing, or offer a good IG analytic tool? :)

As I previously mentioned above, I'm using the analytics that Instagram provides itself. In order for you to have that information, you need a business profile. Is yours?
