I having been see new reports on that google is hitting sites with to many blog post. Are other bloggers starting to delete some of there blogs? They are saying that google is starting to reward site with less blog post.

Deleting non performing old post is a very old strategy. Its not something new. It can help but like everything else there are no guarantees.
If google deems most of blog post as spam or "low value content", it will not matter if old post are deleted or not.
 
They reward sites that cost them less resources and cover the topics more in-depth.

There will never be punishment for too many blog posts if you have maintained the quality .
 
Google has a very simple strategy - You have bad or old content? Go down in ranking. You have good and updated content? Well, we have a place reserved for you sir ;)

Of course content quality isn't everything but it influence your rankings a LOT!

What I've seen Google reward is having a site where blog is not the main thing but the side thing and the main thing is like a store that sell products whether physical or digital. Then you write blog post on a path on the website. So store would be maindomain.com and blog posts on maindomain.com/blog/post1 . I find Google prefer these kinda websites.

No don't delete old blog posts just add new and better blog posts. If mama Google seea your website as spam you got to differentiate on what you do and having new, great content is the way to do it.
 
google makes the access of information easy for everyone. You can go anywhere with the help of google maps which is very accurate. Many Cabs, taxis, buses use google app for direction. Its gmail is used by billions of people worldwide. You can search almost any type of information online. and this for free. Youtube is one of the biggest video sharing platforms and it's also free. To summaries Google is the first choice if you search for any information online.
 
Google always loves informative articles. So you can't predict which specific content Google will prefer. That's why "Content is King" Now and forever. So deleting not performed articles is unnecessary.
 
If you're considering this strategy for your site, you might focus on updating and improving old posts, making them more valuable and SEO-friendly, rather than outright deleting content.
 
GG changes every day, it's hard to keep up
 
Unless there is an official word from Google, I am inclined to believe that Google will not penalize older, unique posts and articles that serve as valuable information repositories, knowledge bases, and reference points.
 
Sometimes, old posts score highly for certain keywords, so removing them might result in a loss of traffic. On the other hand, sometimes users enjoy reading older material, so it all depends on the niches and visitor behaviors.
