Has Facebook become more about communities than pages?

I have noticed that groups and community discussions can sometimes feel more active than page posts.

It seems like people enjoy having a place where they can actually participate.
Indeed, it's more engaging to be a part of the discussion rather than being treated as just an audience. The main trick is not letting the conversation become useless and lifeless but making it alive.

Yeah, I think so. Groups usually get more real interaction because people feel like they're part of something, while Pages can feel more like just content being pushed at them.

Pages still work for reach/branding, but communities seem better for building an actual audience. Even with ads, having an active community behind the page can make a big difference.

I agree Facebook Groups often feel more active because people can participate and have real conversations Pages are still useful for branding but communities can create stronger engagement.

Yes, groups are places for two-way interaction and create a sense of belonging, so if you want to build a sustainable community, focus on creating groups instead of just posting on Fanpages.
