What I think of whenever I see a covid thread on bhw. If you haven't watched "what we do in the shadows" it's great.
One of my favorite shows, Matt Berry is awesome in everything.

When we see politics arise we do our best to quash those but the majority of the threads that people post as to Covid, yada, yada, yada, are people commenting as to Vax, anti vax, and a variety of commentary that is not always backed by science but rather by their personal opinions.
I'm vaxxed, my wife is not, and we have never once had an argument or even a disagreement about it.
Those that turn the vax issue into an issue might better be spending their time on other things as opposed to arguing about something that might actually move the needle in areas of their lives as opposed to just noise as all I see when I see a Covid thread is noise and almost never read them.
And, as someone who reads more than the average bear, that is a statement on the value of the random Covid threads we see here.

Still, other antivaxxers should be concerned about the effects of the virus, rather than the vaccine.
I’ll take my chances mate, I’m seeing more negative shit daily with regards to vaccines than I am positive, so for now I’ll keep relying on my immune system and my daily routine of vits etc... it hasn’t let me down yet and trust me I’ve been in some hairy situations (parties etc) and travelled more these past 2 years than ever before.
The doctors warning about immune problems with these vaccines, I think they’re bang on the money.. I hope they’re wrong and none of you end up fucking up your natural immune system with these mRNA jabs. Time will certainly tell.

I like how you completely ignore the other discussion going on here and add your grain of salt again.
It's pretty disrespectful towards @BassTrackerBoats and @Echo, who are warning about the abuse of covid threads.
You should be downgraded, you are the worst example of what a jr. Exec should be.
Stop opening covid threads, you are not only boring but triggering people on purpose.
I hope mods will take actions soon to change the stagnant state of covid threads in BHW because it becomes unbearable to see you post only about this and do useless propaganda.
Change your attitude and contribute more usefully.

The staff select who gets into that section now based on some crazy algorithm or stats they meet, actually none of us know exactly what the criteria is.. bit of a kick in the teeth I thought to those guys that actually contributed to the forum for years and were voted in by their peers.. but not my circus not my clowns eh.

I forgot about this bloke, but good thing you brought it up! Because several scientific papers have been released over the past few weeks that put this guy's promotion of vaccination and ridiculing of anti-vax to bed.
Let's keep it in simple man terms:
Omicron is going to hit every single human being on this planet, vaxxed or not. However, hospital admissions are over 70% lower compared to Delta. Symptoms are mild as fuck, and while some elderly and weak people will still be hit hard, it will be almost negligible compared to earlier variants.
Omicron gives immunity to delta, but delta gives no immunity to Omicron (and no vaccine exists that will help combat Omicron, including the now useless boosters, as omicron is taking over delta in all countries at a rapid pace)
Science has recently proven that natural immunity is long term, and significantly stronger than relying on the vax only. A combination of both is of course, stackable.
Health organizations are worried that the 4-5th booster shot will bring terrible consequences, including autoimmune disease and/or reliance on vaccines to protect, instead of the immune system (NOT 100% confirmed, needs further research)
Current vaccines have received criticism for focusing on a specific area, while it would’ve been possible to focus on the entire picture. Basically eliminating the threat of serious hospitalization altogether. Waiting on more official research on this one so we can start fucking Pfizer, lmao.
All the measures (distancing, washing hands, masks etc) are still relevant BUT nothing will stop you from being exposed to Omicron anymore. Delaying is the only thing that we can do.
Tl'dr vaccines didn't save us, a new variant did that potentially came from mice (hypothesis on the mice bit so far)
Fun fact: Lareb (Dutch side effect center) is reporting over 1000 calls a day with side effects from the booster vaccination. Great stuff Bartio!
