To not come off as a possible sketchy website and play the game in a smart manner. Can you please explain the logic behind this hidden timer instead of automatically redirecting to the affiliate page? And how many seconds would you set to the automatic timer?
Almost forgot about tacked UX, now every search engine does it, I guess.People are doing it with direct cloacking, automatic redirection, and on-page clicks,
It worked well for years, but it would get your website/pages negatively affected nowadays due to the tracked UX,
Would be more suitable to consider it for churn & burn websites, or just stick to CTAs banners in the review articles
I haven't done but initially planned doing something like that on my site that's getting social traffic. Take one day to redirect all traffic coming to the site to my affiliate link but I just didn't want Pinterest to ban my domain so couldn't take the risk.1) Rank for a review keyword in google serp results. Ex:
<product> + review
2) Include a hidden redirect timer on the page
3) Once the user visits the page redirect the user to your affiliate link after x seconds.
Same thought I had. I also wouldn't trust a site that does this kind of thing. It could work but why redirect? The user will think it's a bit spammy/scammy or it might put them off because they wanted to read a review and just got redirected instead.
A good compromise could be adding the link to buy right away at the start and combine it, that way you wouldn't lose anyone who might think a redirect is scammy. For transactional keywords users are ready to buy, in general, most of the time. They don't want to read a blog post.
I am thinking of such keywords.
