Our website has suddenly dropped the traffic and all our rankings has dropped from first page to second, third page so what possible reasons you can think of and what you could suggest right now we are working on content and backlinks.

i have experienced a similar fall before where i would take some time to stop building backlinks nd analyze which pages were first to drop off. at times i found that fixing the pages was more efective than creating backlinks.

its a normal thing because your competitors are improving and finding ways to rank higher so you will have to improve too

Yeah, people do recover, but it definitely takes time, so don't lose hope. First off, don't panic or make any massive changes until the update's completely finished rolling out. Rankings tend to fluctuate wildly during a rollout and honestly can sometimes settle back down on their own once the dust settles.

Since you're already working on content and backlinks, just make sure you're focused on quality over volume here. Look closely at the sites that took your spot on page one and see what they're doing differently from you. A lot of recent recoveries have come from cleaning up thin content and making sure your pages actually match what the user's searching for, instead of just forcing more links at the problem. Stay patient, keep analyzing your competitors, and things should sort themselves out over time.

Learning a lot from this discussion especially the point about checking what top ranking pages are doing differently right now.

I’ve seen similar drops after core updates. The first step is comparing lost pages and keywords to find patterns. Improving content quality, search intent match, internal linking, and fixing technical issues usually helps more than just adding more backlinks.

At times, there's much you can do as google changes intent for keywords. For example, "summer camps", at one point it can list top summer camps but sometimes changes the intent and starts listing comparison first. These shuffles are unpredictable and not much can be done there.

I have encountered instance wherein recoveries occurred when change were made on the pages that were losing their rankings, instead of adding more links. Notice what keywords are not there nd see the new search results on google.

I’d first check which pages and queries lost the most visibility before changing content or links. That usually gives a clearer picture of what the update actually affected.
