Probably a stupid question, but I just want to hear some opinions.

I've seen some very very decent domains, with reasonable prices. Seems like some of them have minimal SEO, but a few of them I really wanted were complete trainwrecks.

Doesn't matter where you buy the domains you still need to do due diligence. I don't see why domains sold in Flippa would be different than domains sold elsewhere.

Did everyone else get the email from Flippa? It seems like there are fewer number of websites on there now, which I think is good, but what exactly did they cull?

Domains are different from Websites. Domains is all about the name itself, Websites is about the profit, you can easly get scammed with a website but not with a domain. I believe its safe to buy domains on Flippa. I never bought any, but sold some. Everything went fine. Just a tip: many domains listed on Flippa are also listed in another marketplaces like godaddy, namejet and sedo. Before making a purchase take a look on this places as the prices can be diferent.

Yes, bought domains on Flippa, but there are rarely deals to be had there.. Some of the higher ticket names ($xx,xxx) can be had at a good price, but me I don't buy domains in that range :)
