Has anyone here ever used therapy?

If you're just looking for someone to talk at, then you'll have plenty of options because most therapists, in my experience, are simply in it for the money.
This might be different on where he lives, I have friends that go to therapists here where I live and no one pays for it, covered by the state.

Never been to one but I am curious with what I am reading on this thread

Same here and before they get paid, they got to do 7 years for free. :p

I can pay them if they ask me. I can live with them. Who wouldn't like to live with a person who fixes errors all the time. That'd be a deal breaker!

The gambling part. I think you have some impact in that and you can get the therapist on track but it's a skill.
It's not a skill, it's an art to get a therapist back on track.
I have sociopathy disorder mixed with high anxiety so they all are helpful for me. It's a very characteristic one. Quite easy to understand. :D
Yeah, if you have anxiety, it's as easy to find a therapist for that as it is to find a vet who treats cats and dogs.

I'm surprised to hear that they're helpful to you in regards to ASPD. I had friends with that disorder, and they all struggled to find help.

You both make a really good points here.

When you deal with the lunacy of the US healthcare system on a regular basis, it's easy to forget that it's not the norm.

I wanted to meet privately with them and they didn't let me.

I used a lot of medication to counteract and not be hostile towards people. That helped a lot but I tried 2 groups of medications.

Before self-medicatioon with friends + alcohol. Terrible stuff. Couldn't focus on anything other than drinking more.

*I didn't ask for help for 15 years. After 15 years I accepted it. And that's why it worked. People with such disorders have insane trust problems.

It's helped me massively. I wouldn't say I had huge issues, but still - was not the best mental state. I'm living in a country in war, so it also affects

Been on therapy for maybe 4-5 months, discussed everything I wanted to, fixed the shit in the way I think and started focusing more on how I feel and what I truly want rather than on what other people expect me to do

Also had some anxiety from time to time, and learnt a few tricks to fight it
Highly recommend!

yeah.... try to expose corruption and land in rehablitation center for 6 months before your parents pay $5000 for 6 months to get you out.

Hey guys,
I would like to know some benefits from people on here who got real positive experience from fixing their thoughts and behaviors or general lifestyle with therapy.

Started hitting the gym lately. But I'm also considering going for therapy from this new month as I have a lot to fix in my head, I believe.
I personally suggest Therapy - talking from experience:D

Absolutely go for it.

Just don't start taking meds that try to hide what your mind is going.
It's a long journey but good luck you got this

Just don’t get discouraged if your first therapists don’t match with you. I must have went through three or four different therapists before I felt like I had someone who I really liked.
I really want to go to a therapist, but I don't actually trust them.

The psychologist profession in my country hasn't been around for too many years and isn't very mature.

I'm anxious, can't sleep, and have started taking melatonin every day, I'd like to up the dosage but I'm worried about the side effects.

My biggest wish right now is to sleep for 20 hours straight. No phone calls, no ringtones...

I told you about the damn 16 hour a day work day. And the damn clients... automate all that stuff.
