I have an established website, and I decided to do some seo as it was a while ago I bought some links. So I searched for some good blogs and bought some blogroll links. And now the website disappears from the SERP for a day, and then come back and disappears again etc.

Is this normal, or should I be worried and remove the blogroll links?

It's Google. From September 4th there have been some changes on the algorithm and a lot of sites are bouncing up and down in SERPs.

Yea I have noticed this with a few of my sites - very unstable ranks.
i think you just need to keep building links steadily, and ride it out.

Have patience..there is an update going on. lot of chatter about this all over the place.
To get details about this update visit:

The 4th September update will be followed by another one at the end of September or beginning of October - that will bounce more the things regarding the backlinks but nothing will be change regarding the content - you have to keep building them and to keep verifying their existence (I strongly suggest each 24h survey regarding your backlinks)

SERP's ranking is unstable now days. Yesterday my site ranked on tenth for particular keyword and today it is ranking on 8th. So i also think that it is normal, not to worry.

I confirm on my side that Rankings are dancing like a ball even in the local search engines (ITA in my case).

Just keep going on with link building and - of course - stick to quality more than quantity. In my personal experience 2-3 comments per day on VERY trusted blogs are a good investment for the long term.

Of course not spammy comments but comments worth reading, that may eventually engage the other commenters.

IMHO :)

If you take out current algorithm of Google... and then think of ups downs in Google SERP frequently, then you would find that your site doesn't have good number of trust links..

I mean building trust links would help in establishing the position in Google SERP.
