Has anyone experienced issues with missing audio on reels?

This happens often, and I've done the rage shake to report many times. Of course IG is never going to respond.
A few times, I had the option to replace the audio (once only), but received an error msg during the process. Did all the troubleshooting steps.
Other times, the option isn't available.
I understand it's about copyright issues, but at least let us replace it!

I totally feel you Instagram’s copyright stuff can be super frustrating, especially when the “replace audio” option is glitchy or missing. Usually, that’s a mix of app bugs and strict copyright enforcement on their end.

What’s helped me and some folks I know is:

Always keeping the app updated to catch the latest fix
Using royalty-free or properly licensed music to avoid the strikes altogether
When audio replacement fails, posting muted vids and layering in original or safe audio separately
It’s not perfect, but these little tweaks keep things rolling smoothly most times.

If you want, I’ve tested a few creative ways around IG’s restrictions that actually work pretty well just say the word.

Thanks for the info, I check for app updates daily and used to only use Original Audio, which really restricted my content use, since I could never use trending audio. That was safe and fine, then I noticed even Orginal Audio went missing!

Could you explain about muted vids ... I'm not able to edit a reel that way, only the captions.

I get the struggle with IG’s audio rules it’s a real headache. Using muted vids and adding your own audio through apps like InShot or CapCut can really make a difference and keep your content safe.

I’ve helped a few people figure out smooth workflows around this, and some simple tweaks can save a lot of time and frustration. If you want, I can share some practical tips or ideas that worked well for others.

No pressure at all, just happy to help if you’re interested.

Yeah, it’s really frustrating when IG doesn’t respond properly. The copyright rules make it tricky, but giving users an easier way to replace audio would help a lot. Hopefully, they improve this soon!

That would be great, thanks. I can't use the DM function yet, since I'm a newbie.

If the Audio you are using is from a different post (a reposted video), Instagram can detect duplicate content like that and may hide/mute the audio. In that case, what some other agencies do is; they will speed up the video so that the audio gets detected as "Unique" and the platform wont detect duplicate versions. Give that a try and that should help.

The audio was Original Audio but my own/first post. It wasn't reposted. It was several months ago, before the repost option was available. Would you pls clarify - I don't quite understand. Did you mean to just repost it now, with a different song? It had a lot of engagement, so I'm not sure if it carries over?

There is literally no way around it, sometimes all these social media platforms does what they want and get away with it because no amount of complain will make them come to your aid

I noticed older reels rarely have this problem, seems like new uploads are targeted more
