I can't say exactly because obviously I was commenting and liking photos as well and they could attribute, but i amassed about 5500 followers in under 30 hours.
I was using followliker to do the followings, I failed to set restrictions on who to follow so I ended up following at least 1000 of those shitty instagram accounts that post fake handbags and those 'get 1000 free likes!' profiles.

40k in 3 weeks.
I'm currently at 19k after 1 week.
I don't use this account to make money, it's just an account for a popular tumblr blog I own and since tumblr is a dying platform (I no longer see the interaction I use to) - I've followed suit with other people in the niche and have stepped up my insta game.

I unfollowed around 7000 today during the day on my 94k account with delays manually and my account is still fine and Iam able to follow normally as well so if you use delays you can bypass the limits I think.

yes i did 1 page of unfollow every 1 or 2 minutes or so to take breaks in between

i have a iphone 6 plus so for me 1 page is 12 people so it took me 7 hours or so of active unfollow

How much people of the 8k followed you back? pretty cerious to know that!
Awesome job!
For me, because I only follow very targeted users who are likely to follow me back, I usually receive around 3-4 followers for every 10 follows.
