I see they offer $100 free ad credit and I was wondering if reddit ads were any good.
Has anybody tried reddit ads? Are they expensive? What about conversions?

It depends on the site you are promoting. I tried to promote a dating site, and it didn't go well, but that was five years ago. Your best bet is to have a site that brings something unique to the platform, and that will keep their attention. I would avoid affiliate marketing, CPA, and other types of sites as they think they know everything. It's just my experience, but your better with some free site that can generate some AI or something different.

Now, they don't even allow dating ads. LOL
I was thinking of promoting CPA offers but now I have to re-think.
$100 for free so I guess I could just try as I have nothing to lose.
Don't know... if it works I can buy virtual cards to keep getting free ad credits LOL.

Was wondering if the ads were expensive there.
They give away $100 so it's kinda fishy.

CPC is generally fairly low. I like that oyu can target specific subreddits, but still conversion rate is abysmal.

Any niche suggestion?
It seems like redditors mainly watch porn or others' pets.
 
I have seen ads with mobile games being advertised there a lot and also software ads.
 
I think you can use your money wiser, come on now, reddit ads are trash.
 
I read from some marketing sub on reddit that a bot detection firm tested reddit ads and 80% of the clicks were from bots.
 
They are not the best in my experience! It would be better putting your money on facebook ads!

that sounds about right

i'm not even sure half the people posting on reddit are real people

I tried recently, but no conversions. Though it was just an experiment and I didn't change the ad copy and retest.
 
Not my best experience to be honest
Very few clicks despite quite decent CPM
At least got that free credits thing and didn't spend much budget on it

Yet that may be better for some gaming/gamibling niche or such as Reddit audience seems more suitable for these things
 
Reddit ads are horrible, many bots click your ad and you pay for essentially nothing.
 
A lot of reddit bots plus I feel the user base is a little more tech savvy and they will call out things more then other social media
