Yo! If English isn't your first language, I would say English is the hardest language on Earth to learn and I thank my lucky stars it's my first language.
I also speak Spanish, Russian, and French...Spanish and French deserve to be on the easy list..Russian needs to be on the difficult list because going from the Latin alphabet to the Cyrillic alphabet is freakin' tough. It took me a loooong time to get used to reading Cyrillic, then pronunciation and understanding it when spoken to...that should be on the difficult list too.
As far as English, it's the newest and most quickly evolving language. English is a mix of SEVERAL other languages and it has so many different grammatical rules (which of course get broken with countless exceptions) because it takes those different rules from all the languages that founded English.
English is really hard to pronounce, it's hard to keep up with the rules and the subsequent exceptions to those rules, and English has a lot of different dialects too. Someone learning English as a second language may learn the Queen's English from England and come to the US and not understand one word we're saying.
My vote, put English at the top of the list of most difficult languages to learn.
