Hard to find good contentwriters

Hi BHW,

I’m really struggling to find high-quality, native English content writers—and I’m wondering if anyone else is facing the same issue.

Everywhere I look, there are writers claiming to be native from the US or UK, with years of experience. But then you get a sample full of keyword stuffing, unnatural phrasing, and obvious grammatical errors. Sometimes even AI-generated content is passed off as "handwritten."

Where do you actually find GOOD writers who truly write in native-level English?

And on top of that, I’m torn between quality vs. quantity:

• Is it better to pay $100+ per article for 6 high-quality posts per month, or
• Is it smarter to publish 20+ cheaper ($30) articles instead?

Key Considerations:​

• Can bad / medium content hurt rankings more than it helps? Or is it "better then nothing"
• Does Google reward fewer, high-quality posts over more content which might be not in the same quality?
• How do you even filter out fake native writers before hiring them?

If anyone has a trusted source for real native English content writers, please share! I’m tired of wasting my time reading low-quality writers who claim to be "experienced professionals."

Anti-bot job application commentary aside, have you tried freelancer dotcom? You can see which country users are verified from, and you can vet people fairly easily via chat to see their English level

there are, but most charge 150 - 200 for 1000 words.

It also depends on the niche. Like for some high paying niches, my friends tell me they get paid 40 cents per word too.

If you pretend to rank with those articles it will be completely irrelevant what you choose. Writers won't do the cut ever more. We are not in 2021 anymore.

If you want to deliver quality content up to your standards, because you know that people will actually read it, I would tailor a writer to my taste. You can get a cheap writer or an expensive writer, it doesnt really matter. The important thing is the amount of time you take with the writer to tailor him. And the amount of time you take with him, Obviously as any worker, if the writer doesnt progress, you will need to ditch and get another and repeat again.

It's true that low rates generally mean non-native pure English writers (guys that don't have English as their main daily language, and they only use for formalities). Basically I would say that this is like 80% of the english speaking population nowadays (including India, Pakistan, all African countries and a long etcetera). And then you will find those fake US-writers that are not from US but probably East-europe guys faking this (they are masters).

The only source of trustworthy quality native writers I've found over the years are from UK, generally guys in the early college days looking for an extra (not cheap).

But remember, if those articles are not meant to be read for some REAL reason (instructions, tutorials, FAQ, or whatever), don't create them. It's a massive waste of money. And never-ever buy anything bulk or weighted (say $5/100 words) or shit like that. I you have to perfectly tailor your content to an structure, regardless of the number of words. This must be artisanal-level.

If you really want to go wild in big numbers, learn how to train LLM and try to go the hard-way, its not easy, but its the only method to drive ranks nowadays targeting zillions of longtail keywords that are not under the focus of the main algo.

Makes sense, no writer should be doing those stupid 1K words anymore. Most pages should be tailored to death and with a couple hundred words, you can fill them all spots with ease. Maybe $0.4 per word its a little bit excessive from my POV. I would not pay more than $0.2 per word and this with a massive training behind. Also now with the anti-filler algo from Google, writing a ton of bullshit is negative for ranking.

My suggestion is go with quality over quantity . Because, even you will do 20+ cheap articles with low quality it doesn't reflect the changes effectively rather than focus on high quality blogs and content to your target keyword that will be better for your site to spend.

Native could be more than that, If you are looking for black niches that would be more in bucks.

There's no way to get quality content without paying up. Good writers are expensive.

Like I told you, you have to get good at recognizing potential.

After that prepare to train them.

Even the best writer won't produce what you want right away.

And factual correction will be left to you or an expert in the field.

No it's not hard if you interview them on a video call prior to hiring, only the good one will accept and the best ones will pass.
