just wondering how long did it take you to reach 5k? and what were your settings when you started off?

1 month, all the accounts were aged before, 700~800 follow a day 24/7, I was doing "unfollow all" (7k) in a day before ig changed everything.

IG seems to have randomly caused some accounts posts to reach less people. I don't think anyone knows why, but it's really f****** annoying. F*** you Facebook.

Your engagement dropped because you're no longer in the following phase. When your following, new people are visiting your page and they like your most recent pictures. When your unfollowing, there are not many new people coming to your page. So your just depending on the followers you already have to like your picture. And when you unfollow you lose followers because the reason they followed you is because you followed them. There's really no way around losing engagement when unfollowing.

The new changes don't affect small accounts. 10k accounts and under(maybe even 15k) are safe from the changes.

Where did you get this information from? I'm trying to work out if I've been hit by this on my 14.5k account. I have seen 30k+'accounts that are still getting the same number of likes though?

that guys. if you follow people, a lot of them will visit you, like 1-2 picture because "wow" and then they don't give a fuck. They are just following you for increase the number of followers not because they care about you. So you are getting your real engagement. You need to target very very well people whatever is the action (follow, like, comment) or they will just follow you because "Hey a 15K page is following me wow let's follow it to say thanks" not because are interested in your products.
