Hello Fellow B-Hatters:

Well . . . tomorrow is Thanksgiving Day for those of us who live in the United States,
but I just wanted to take a moment to wish EVERYONE a Happy Thanksgiving. It is
a day when we traditionally sit at the dinner table with family and friends and have
lots of good food to eat. It isn't a religious holiday, however, it is a day to stop and
reflect and express gratitude for the things we have (and the things we don't have,
like illness, or other undesirable things).

Due to certain circumstances, some of you may be spending Thanksgiving alone.

I remember one year when I had broken up with my girlfriend and was living
alone and kind of down in the dumps about everything. It was Thanksgiving
Day and I was on my way to the nearest bar to get good and drunk. Then as
I was walking down the street, I ran into a friend of mine who stopped and
asked me if I had Thanksgiving dinner yet. I said that I wasn't going to have
Thanksgiving that year. Then he said, "Well, why don't you come with me?...
I am going to the local Rescue Mission to serve Thanksgiving dinners to the poor."

I don't know why, but I said, "Yeah . . . Why not? . . . I'll come along . . ."

Well . . . to make a long story short, I went to that Rescue Mission and I served
those people and I REALLY ENJOYED IT! . . . After all of the dinners were served,
I sat down and had a nice big plate of turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, cornbread
and cranberries, and then I helped them clean up afterward. It was the BEST
and most meaningful Thanksgiving I ever had, knowing that I had helped others
less fortunate to have a decent Thanksgiving Day meal.

When I walked out of the Rescue Mission that night, I felt lighter than air. I didn't
need to go to the bar and get drunk as I had originally planned. I felt GREAT!

It was a humbling experience and it did my heart and soul a world of good.

So, if you are going to be alone this Thanksgiving and if you are feeling kind of
down, I suggest that you find a local Rescue Mission or a church, or any place
that is serving free Thanksgiving Dinners to the poor and homeless. Ask if you
can volunteer to serve, and if you are lucky, they just might let you help out.

I guarantee that it will be your BEST Thanksgiving EVER! :)

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! - "Wiz"

Thanks Wizzzzzzzzz, your story kind of touchy. Happy thanks giving day to all most especially my fellow blackhatters, not in tactics thou but in name. For those that have not, it shall be given unto them this year. Remember, it's not too late for miracles to happen even when we have only few seconds to meet a deadline.

The past year to exact date (yesterday, P.S.: Sorry, it was today that day... so today ends that fateful year for me) was simply hell for me personally (whatever that word means, I went through it). During the seemingly unending sufferings, some of the closest relatives and friends (including some great new-found friends) helped and prayed for me to recover... their prayers really worked wonders! I am grateful to all those wonderful guys and girls! Thank you very much. God bless all!

I have felt them literally pull me out... for them, all my thanks aren't sufficient to express my heartfelt gratitude.

Many more thanks...

@Wiz,
I was one of such people who needed help big time (another kind of help, but HELP nonetheless...) so I really appreciate what you did for those people who needed you that night to become a little more comfortable. When such people get help from unknown & wonderful friends like you, I can assure you that you have made some very Great One up there very very happy along with those poor and needy. I know that the Universe shall compensate you with great things in your life very soon. It never fails to do that!

God bless you! :)
