Since mt gox had a ton of hacking issues, what about new liberty standard in 2010? If someone decided to buy 1000 usd worth of bitcoin from march to august of that year, wouldnt there be the possibility that someone could have hacked their funds similar to mg gox?

Why are you interested in past so much ?

The only thing people need to remember is that if it's not in your wallet, you don't hold it.
Not your key - not your bitcoin.
Well i just wanted your opinion. Sorry.

yes
stolen
hacked
killed for

most people in that era who has amassed btc are well hidden and underground and would never admit it.

This is my opinion. The only safe place for your bitcoin is a cold wallet. Every platform can be hacked or taken down, it's out of your control.

But 1000 usd worth of bitcoin from 2010 to cold wallet?

But would bitcoin core have been their only option to protect themselves from hacking or other online security concerns?

Was new liberty standard immune from all these problems like mt gox?

Exchanges were like honeypots, and hackers were always buzzing around

Mt. Gox wasn’t hacked. The owner straight-up stole the money, which is why he was arrested by Japanese authorities in 2015

What problems did new liberty standard have with paypal?
PayPal's problems are legendary. Everyone has issues with them, from regular users to big names. Yet people keep using them. It's a mystery. So, New Liberty Standard's problems are probably due to PayPal's shortcomings, not their own. Those idiots who use PayPal are to blame for New Liberty Standard's problems. If no one used this crap payment network, it would have died long ago, and there would be no problems.

But how could people back then buy bitcoin from new liberty if not via paypal?

That's the exchange's problem to provide deposit methods for the client. I don't know what options the platform offered in 2011, but they should have taken an example from Forex brokers. They provided a truly rich selection of deposit methods to their clients, although they worked in a gray area.
