Hi! I have a youtube channel where I post tutorials related to account recovery on different websites. And many of these videos get spammed a lot with messages like: contact this or that "hacker" on instagram and they will help you recover your account.

Does anyone know what's the catch? Do they scam people? I don't think anyone can bypass 2FA on any website so if they are trying that hard, there must be some way they are making money out of this

What do you guys think?

Yep, it's a scam. They ask you money for recovery your account, and they scam you.
Tell yourself one thing: hackers don't need to do this kind of stupid service, because they have other things to do, and they can make a lot more money doing more useful things.

I know but.. I was wondering.. are people really that dumb?!
Like what, do they go like: give me 100$ and I will recover your account and someone actually pays them? just like that?

I've seen many of my viewers actually reply to those spam messages but I refused to believe someone is actually that stupid.
Well.. till now.. :D

Yup people are that dumb. Just last week I tried to talk out 1 guy from this and he was still sure that it wasn't a scam. I told him to do what he wants.

Most scams are so obvious they're scams, but a lot of people still fall for it, so...

Believe me, I got scammed before. But it was because they made me believe that we could cheat google ads with self clicks.

But I've seen other people being scammed by phishing and other simple services.

yep there's the reason it's so obvious
they only want to attract stupid and uninformed people, instead of spending hours to convince a well informed individual with little to no succes

I know there are many more elaborate ways out there to scam people and anyone can fall for them if they are not cautious enough. I didn’t meant to laugh at people getting scammed.. it’s just that the 2FA has a purpose.. that’s why pretty much every website nowadays allows their users to secure their account with 2FA.. because it cannot be bypassed! So when I see people that actually believe some random dude on instagram can recover their lost account.. kind of makes me laugh
