I normally do this

<h1>How to learn about Keyword </h1>
<h1>Keyword: The complete guide</h1>
<h1>keyword</h1><br /><span>some stuff about keyword</span>

Then I seen the suggestion to do this, only putting the keyword in the H1 tags

<span>How to learn about <h1>keyword</h1></span>
<span><h1>Keyword</h1>: The complete guide</span>

I tried it out on a site for a test and the rankings seem to go much worse.

Now I'm wondering, if Google sees that as an attempt to manipulate rankings?

I usually try to keep it as normal looking as possible.. h1 stands for header.. you can t put a keyword as header inside a paragraph sentence.. i would see it as unnatural if i was google too

Use 1 H1 tag and how many H2/3/4 you want. ;)
Every where you would check (google support included) they recommend only 1 H1 tag.

Definitely the 1s case, but only one H1, not more.

Mugs game. I could come across plenty of sites ranking for big money keywords and their H tags are shite.

Fuck all but kiddy hear say. Want to prove me wrong? I could find 10 ranking blogs without the H1 perfection shite, to any one blog that has H tag perfection.

Don't use H1 more than one time. Normally post header comes with H1. You can use H2 in some most important title. And H3/4 gradually. One more important thing don't use H tag too much.
