i've just received email from one of my sites, that somebody just registered. Don't know ho he did it as i have disabled registrations. Now my site is hacked and any page you visit will redirect you to ads and spammy sites.
So, i highly recommend you to update your sites ASAP.

OK... your site got hacked... unfortunate.

but what should we all update? all is up-to-date.

if your site is up to date, there is nothnig more you can do... have a nice day

What if you had previously used malicious theme or plugin somewhere. Wordpress core installation might not even be the culprit

I had the same issue last month and did a lot of htaccess stuff to avoid it for future :)
So secure your htaccess then

Did you used nulled themes/plugins?

Install some firewall. WordFence or Ithemes security

What version was your WordPress site running on? 5 up?

I even got hacked many times. But I always countered the attacks many times. BTW I'm not from a developer background but I already experience have such in troubleshoot.

Website hacked and what we need to take care of buddy? I mean what to-update? Could you explain a bit. thanks

I think he wants to remind us to update all themes and plugins to their latest versions since outdated themes and plugins could be vulnerable.

I think it might be due to a vulnerability in a plugin/theme, not WP itself.

never used nulled plugin or something like that. I've used licensed theme from Theme forest

keep your core and plugins up to date. If you have some outdated, update them, so you won't end up like me :)
