Wouldn't this guy burn up reentering the atmosphere? I guess his suit must be made to protect him, but still - I think this guy is a lunatic. I will be watching when this happens live, for sure.

I don't think he's leaving the atmosphere as he might burn as you said.

the upper boundary of the thermosphere, the outermost layer of the atmosphere. No he's not going to burn up, Though he will be the first person to break the sound barrier free falling and no ones really sure what the shockwave is going to do to his body. He will top out at around 2500kph until he hits the lowest part of the atmosphere were his decent will slow to around 200kph.

The reason he wont burn up is simply because he's not heavy or large enough to burn up, But his suit is in fact going to go up to about 400-600 (i cant remember the exact temperature they said). But he wont feel it because of the suits cooling system and heat shield.
 
45 minutes left for launch. But now the wind speed is 4x higher.. on the attempt a few days ago the speed was 1.3 km/h and now it's 5.5 km/h.
 
makes me think...will people start hating redbull if this ends badly?

It won't end badly. I think this whole stunt is to ultimately prove that red bull, does indeed, give you wings.
 
wtf.. it's not really live streaming from their official website, there's almost a minute in delay. Check other sites like news sites for live streaming.
