This is a funny thread. The guru bash.

I was on that webinar, i sometimes try to find one while I eat diner. It's a lot better than T.V. Then if looks interesting I'll try to find their product here. I take these webinars & their products w/ a grain of salt. You messed up by expecting something.
Sad but true.

Anyway, sometimes you will pick something new up and sometimes you wont.

I think this new webinar is gonna lead to 'guru gang wars'. Lol.

I didn't catch this I was there for like 2 minutes, got pissed and left

ive pretty much unsubscribed to about almost every list I ever was on. Especially from guys like Howie Schwartz, who make it their business to email blast you like 20 times per day.

It's the "magic bullet" or "big secret" psychology trick as Dan Kennedy explained so well. In a persons mind there must be some hidden secret out there or some big insider knowledge that will make them make money/lost weight/trade winning stocks or whatever. It CAN'T be something that is MY fault they think, it must be some secret that I just don't know about, and if I get my hands on that secret then I will be sorted.

So the gurus sell them the promise of the big secret, and the masses fall for it. Even the OP who probably knows a lot about marketing signed up to that crappy webinar thinking he may get some "insider info" on what's working right now.

Even IMers that have been around for a while still but this rubbish. One of the latest ones I've seen is Mark Ling selling 10 PLR "business in a box" packages, you get the sales page, the autoresponder, blah blah blah. Over 1000 people on his blog "dying" to buy this stuff and ALL sell the same info on the 10 best niches to be in. what are the niches?? Dog training, weight loss, get your ex back.....need i say any more

A couple weeks ago a newbie member (@calculator) thats been a member on bhw for over 2 years and still has a post count of zero was bitching about one of his products being shared in the download section. (6 figures with Chris coaching program...) He had a finite amount of slots that he sold out for $497 each.

I looked at the thread and basically his program just consists of the same old stuff as you can find anywhere else for free. The thing about these programs is that they're only taking advantage of noobs because they can get the same info for free if they'll just look around for a little bit first. Not just from sharing the paid programs for free, but also from websites like bhw and others that share all that info in open forums, or blogs that give the same info for free

I really like the idea of giving away how to do things for free and then make money by promoting tools that can be used to make it happen easier. That doesn't mean that if I found a good enough 'guru' product I wouldn't promote it as well. Many people really think that if its free it must not be valuable and the only way they'll trust it is if they have to pay a premium price.

If the people buying those programs would implement all the steps, most of the programs actually will teach people how to make money. Most people won't follow through and so it's basically a waste of money them though. The fact that with a little searching they could find most of the same info for free just makes it a little sadder.

O, Haha. Yeah he called it the 'Guru Attack' and talked about how he took one of Russel Brunson's product and made a short video about its shortcomings and why it wasnt good. And then then sent an email w/ "Russell Brunson is full of crap!" as the subject. = 80% open rate.
His steps were
1.Pick a guru
2. Alert your list
3. Give feedback & make pitch

Haha, it was epically shitty. And there was a part where he said something about not doing it to someone in his circle. You know the group of gurus there that were stroking each other and selling each others products.

So I predict it will lead to "Guru Gang Wars"

I actually have read that thread WIZ, it was a classic. The rocks and the table reminded me of the secrect. Haha. It may have been mentioned in the thread if I remember right. I didnt read the whole thing this time around..

the 5 stages of guru worship:
1) denial - "this guru is awesome! i can make $100,000 in 3 days!" [spends $77 on clickbank ebook]
2) anger - "what the hell? i didn't make any money. this guru sucks!" [initiate chargeback]
3) bargaining - "ok, i'm only gonna read guru stuff if i can get it for free on bhw. gotta keep looking for that magic pill.."
4) depression - "wtf nothing works. the entire IM niche is full of bullshit. is all of IM just one big scam?"
5) acceptance - "we don't need no gurus to make monies online." [actually starts making money now]

The only thing I have learned out of these webinars is this:

Webinar = Salespitch


That's all it is! I remember a while back, webinars were really cool and fun to watch. I even dare to say they were pretty informative. Now, it's a very rare occurrence if they are not followed by a, "You're only gonna pay $197 for this product because you signed up for this webinar!"

I used to look forward to webinars but not anymore.

So, so true. Webinars have become the new autoresponder. Can you imagine getting 50 invites to webinars in your inbox every day - as opposed to plain ol emails?

I clicked on a link today where I was supposed to learn how "now". But learning how "now" meant signing up for a webinar. I was pissed at that false advertising.

In short time, webinars will have a low level of respect unless they are offered by big, known companies.

My opinion - of course.

I'm pretty sure webinars have already reached "infomercial" status already.

How about Howie? Is he really a Guru? He always spam my inbox about his product or other Guru's product. Well he always got something to brag and sell and that obviously shows that his job are nothing than create this so-called cool working profitable method, pack into ebook & landing page, make some his not-so-serious-stupid-funny video and sell..

More gurus are coming out every single day

This has confused so many beginners in Internet Marketing world.

All of us just need to be super careful & conscious before buying stuff.

Apparently, the only way you can make big money online is by teaching others on how to make money online. Don't you know most of the Gurus like Frank kern has started out making money by selling products on how to make money online. But one thing for sure, you could make a killing teaching others on how to make money online even if you had never made any money before.

Every time I hear the word guru, the first thing that comes on my mind is bullshit and noob, as well as (no offence to anyone) Indian.

Just push them to the side of your plate . . .

and eat the rest of your dinner.
