Guru's and Their BS !

Awesome Advice CEPI,

Yep...if i would have just paid more attention to what Grandma said...who knows---i might have been president of the USA (or Russia)...LOL.

Good one man......thanks!

Reminds me of a piece I wrote for my blog about 2 years ago..... (pasted below)

The Big, Fat, Seminar Circuit Joke That's On YOU
I have spent quite a long time in the business world, a VERY rough sector of the business world at that. One where the smallest of circles are formed, and the favors flow so blatantly that nobody cares to stop them, it's that turn the other cheek mind set of "that's so blatant they wouldn't be THAT stupid, so it must be legit somehow" size of favors. Even though what I do, and have done over the years seems to be a "good ‘ol boys" system or whatever you want to call it, I know of a subculture where the fraud perpetrated against its victims are of the most heinous level. Where the back table conversations would make you vomit. That is the seminar circuit subculture.

Let me give you a brief on what the seminar circuit is all about. Almost all seminars look alike, they give you spoon fed wisdom that has been known for centuries, just in various outline formats, and delivered by a new energetic ass-cannon of a man with pearly white veneers and hair that wouldn't move in a category 5 storm. Of course if you're too lazy to take notes or can't attend you can get it all on a DVD set for $3,495. You just listen to this guy, or his DVD's and magically you're thinking, "wow, that's SO right, I need to do that, I think I have heard that working for someone somewhere before!"

No shit, because it's the same stuff your grandparents yell at you about as a kid, and your parents kept yacking in your ear after each time you wrecked the family car! Now some guy gets to make money selling it to you all over again as an adult:

  • "It's time to take responsibility and do the things that you don't want to do in life"
  • "Don't spend more than you make"
  • "Make a list the night before of things you have to do the next day in order of importance"
  • "You must achieve a balance in your work and life"
  • "Set goals for everything"
  • "Buy a used car you can afford because it's already depreciated"

COMPLETE GARBAGE
!

OK, so the material itself is already horrible and regurgitated from 100's of years of what I call "common sense" wisdom. Now look at the people behind the talks, and products. How many of the "expert speakers" have made SERIOUS money? I'm not talking a million here or there. I mean 100's of millions, been in project control into the billions, have told CEOs of Fortune 500 companies to go fuck themselves when they weren't acting right, shattered the dreams of thousands because you have to make real daily business decisions, kind of success? I would say zero. Maybe one or two.

These guys make money IN the seminar business, selling you grandma advice, taking your money. After the show they all go get a beer and laugh at how unemployed shlep rocks are still not catching onto the gig. I have heard these guys, I know some of them actually pretty well, they are laughing at people who buy their products and attend their seminars. They are still in awe at peoples stupidity.

I have helped a lot of business owners and colleagues with one simple ideology: I won't tell you what you want to hear so you'll like me and we can get along, I will tell you the truth. So if you already know I am going to uncover some shit in your business or life that you don't want to face, just start up your "hating me" engine right now because those things will be shoved right into your face. If you need a friend, buy a dog.

Maybe I should hit the seminar circuit. Telling the truth about success and business. That it isn't all wispy dreams and cupcake seminars that open up with "Born In The USA" blasting from the speakers. I'll probably be the guy who unapologetically tells the crowd that the only reason the speaker coming on after me is driving a Rolls Royce is not because he is a real estate mogul, but because he sold 480,000 copies of his shitty book with a purple cover (Yeah, you know who) about buying income producing real estate to people just ... like... YOU! I'll be the one hit wonder of the seminar circuit, so I guess I had better make sure it's a huge crowd.

Hard work always gives success but most of the people don't want hard work they want only out put and money.

The only people who end up making money are those so called Guru as they would charge you thousands of dollars as fees.

But to be honest, you gotta find your own real way to make money

haha....yep.

We should all stop and "listen to the Webmaster here." Then we can be stuck behind a computer screen all day long...listening to complaints from irate customers about background colors and font sizes, etc.

lol...you're funny...i mean Funny Looking that is!

Yep....Dream Sellers abound. The following are GURU's who did TIME IN PRISON.

Perhaps you have purchased one of there courses...Webhack.

haha

Tom Vue
Russ Whitney
William_J._McCorkle
James Arthur Ray
Wade Cook
Dave Del Dotto
...and the list goes on.

Feel free to forward $5-1000 for one of their get rich quick schemes.

AS soon a ppl realize OP POINT...then maybe less ppl will get scammed by con-artist. Of course they'll be no help from ppl like "smiley." He's too busy acting like a Clown....;)

Who the hell are you? Quoting random names? Know who I think you are? You are Thorman. You were the ONLY dumbass to agree with him and oh look at that, you both registered within 4 days of eachother. You and him both freaked out when I made a little joke, coincidence? I think not. As for acting like a clown, next time cover up your duplicate accounts better.

haha...great story---with a lot of truth!

Yes sir... a lot of clowns like "Smity, vine", and that crew think this is funny---but when they meet hard workin mom's who are trying to support 3 kids, keep a roof over their heads and food on the table---and fall PREY to the Charlitans of the world----or their sister or mom gets takin---maybe they won't think its so funny.

Or maybe they too are demented like the predators who prey on poor unsuspecting ppl?

Oh, and you're gonna come take my mother or sister? You'd think that being on "the world for 40 years", you'd have more sense then to speak with anger. Where do I claim to be a guru? Oh and Daiseysiegal, oops, I mean, Thorman, don't comment on things you don't know. It makes you look like an ass.

I once knew a man and wife who were struggling to pay their mortgage, etc. Anyway, i'm sure you get the story. They saw some GURU on tv advertising his wares (think it was some MLM product) and they gave him their last cent. Ended up homeless and broke--- all because they believed in some guru.

THESE days....its buyer beware!

Woah....appologize for starting such a controversial Thread. Apparently some are hip to this form of deception and other aren't.
