Guide to SEO for 2018 - backlinko / Brian Dean

I have to agree from my own experiment.

Looks like content and backlinks push you to first page, then other metrics come to play in determining who is in top 3!

They give you false rank, test the CTR and Bounce Rate, then change with your competitor and keeps doing that till it settles.

However, if there is an older competitor with old backlink profile, its pretty tough to push him from first position. Basically, they are implementing their Adwords Quality Score techniques into SEO

Which means, 2018 will be the era of fake traffic tools :)

So I watched and read some of the article.
Question. For Videos' Could i use other peoples videos in my article?

i want to know this too. is it better to upload n host the video on your site. or just embedding from youtube is good enough?

I normally just embed videos from YT. I don’t know if hosting your own makes a difference. Probably more so would be if you hosted unique videos that you produced yourself but I think it’s not normally feasible to do that (not for me anyway).

Makes sense.

Appreciate if you can elaborate further....

I believe he is talking about driving traffic (perhaps directly from search results > click) to your site so google thinks it’s a popular choice among searchers.

There are tools that do this already, I never tested them though.

Whats the schematics for comments? How do Google no the difference between comments and intros to a bunch of other comments, how do they know they have been submitted by external users and not made up?
