Guide to post penguin on page seo?

I was wondering there are any "must read" threads on this? Looking through the search has created a really skwewed signal to noise ratio. Basically I am using Yoast and just looking for some best practices. I don't mind working or researching just need a helpful hand to point me in the right direction

Meta tags, h1, h2, h3, title, URL-Structure etc. still count. Descriptions should be written to attract the users to visit your site.
Texts should be written for the users - forget keyword density and shit like that.

On page hasn't change much at all. Don't keyword stuff, don't try to trick visitors, etc.

Off page was the major change in panda/penguin.

People always say "don't stuff" keywords... but they rarely mention what they define "stuffing" as. Where is the line? If it sounds good to the reader but still has a LOT of keywords is it fine?

And if you can't DEFINE where the line is, they how about showing us some examples?

The line is now at 0.5% keword density. 3 or 4% is not recomended anymore.

So in a 400 word article that you want to target "discount chicken pluckers" you should only use "discount chicken pluckers" 2 times?

What about using parts of that full term more? It might be hard to talk about "discount chicken pluckers" without using the work "chicken" "discount" or "pluckers" as separate words. Or does using related words, or the non-complete phrase not count as "density" anymore? What is the definition???

To the best of my knowledge, its good to use parts of the full term still

I don't know about the guides but I have read that if you can keep the rat of optimization at a safe position and use 1st tire site to link building then you will be saved. Stop directly linking the main site with direct anchor texts.

changing only onsite seo is not important but also offsite seo is also important after penguin update

In general, when it comes to keyword stuffing, normally the max amount of keywords that you want to put in a post is 3 keywords. For a post that is under 600 keywords, only use your primary once and your secondaries once, anything over 600 words you can do twice. That has been my rule of thumb and I have had no issues with getting slapped by penguin, panda or any other cuddly algorithm updates. In addition, as I read before, a lot of the onsite has not changed.

Because of the algorithm updates there was a scare that you can over optimize, and yes you can. But that is only the case when the user experience is no longer there. If you write for SEO and optimize for SEO but the user has no idea what they are looking at, you are going to get slapped, either by robots or by a manual review of the site. Just be sure to backlink appropriately, normally contextually. You will be good then. Hope that helps.

In my very recent experience with a paid SEO service here, it came as a surprise that even 4 times in a 500-word article can yield as low as 0.5% density given the overall page content. Watch out for this. My conclusion was that our fear of "stuffing" may often be overestimated.

Theres no set line, it has to be based on personal judgemnet.

If you look a website and almost everywhere you look to click or do something on a website your encountering the keyword then its a safebet that your putting trying to stuff way too much.
