Quick Guide to some automated Social Bookmark link building.

What you'll need: Scrapebox, SickSubmitter, Decaptcha account (I use Death By Captcha), Public and Private proxies (For my private proxies I use squid proxies and for my public proxies I use http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/proxies-sale/175027-scrapebox-scrapejet-daily-proxies.html on BHW).

    Side Notes:
    • 10 private proxies and around 600 "fast" public proxies is what we'll use.
    • If you want to use other programs, I would suggest renting a VPS with preloaded tools to save money. BHS VPS's are a good choice (plus most VPS providers will have 100mb d/l speeds)

This guide is for people who want to start automating some of their own link building. I'll quickly teach you how to create your own Social Bookmarks Links. In order to do this you will need the use of two programs; Scrapebox and SickSubmitter. You will be using Scrapebox to harvest your own lists. That leaves SickSubmitter left for the SocialBookmarks.

You can either harvest your own lists or buy them. If you're going to buy your own lists then I suggest skipping most of the tutorial
First, we're going to harvest our own list of SocialBookmarks. The format we'll be scraping will be the "Pligg" platform.

    STEP 1
Load up Scrapebox, enter your public proxies into the proxy field. Then click Manage> Test Proxies>Test All Proxies. Once tested click Save>Save proxies to scrapebox.

*I know the image says 35 proxies but this is just for reference. I didn't have the time to test 600+ proxies.

    STEP 2
Ok so now we have managed our proxies, we're going to start harvesting for Pligg platform SocialBookmarks.

First make a text file called "Pligg footprint" and add the following information:
    inurl:"pligg/upcoming.php"
    inurl:"register" intitle:"pligg"
    inurl:"cloud.php" intitle:"pligg"
    inurl:"live_comments" intitle:"pligg"
    inurl:"faq-en.php" intext:"pligg"
    inanchor:"Pligg beta 9 Home"
    inanchor:"About Pligg"
    inurl:"/pligg" inurl:/register.php

You now have a small footprint file for harvesting pliggs.

Now fill out the top left field with keywords; for the purpose of the tutorial I'll be using 10 general keywords. (Sport, Business, Money, Internet, Finance, Football, Health, Fitness, Religion and Real Estate), Obviously the more keywords you use the bigger the list you'll scrape, meaning more chance of finding those Pligg Platform Bookmarks. Once you have loaded the field with your keywords, we will check the box which says "Custom Footprint". We will then click the "M" button, search for our pre-created footprint file called "Pligg FootPrint". Now our keyword field should look something like this:

Now depending on your internet connection, you will want to change your Connection settings. Go to Settings>Adjust Maximum Connections.

I'm testing on a 100mb connection so I Have Google,Yahoo and AOL Harvester at 40 connection.

Once this is all set up, Make sure Use Proxies, Google, Yahoo and AOL are all checked. Then Click on "Start Harvesting"

Once Scrapebox has finished harvesting, you should have a big list of URLs that have been scraped. We need to refine this list, so firstly click on "Trim to Root". Then click on "Remove/Filter>Remove Duplicate URL's". Now to save this list, click on "Export URL List > Export as Text (.txt)", save the new text file as something like "Pligg List Ready For Testing".

Congratulations!, we've now managed to scrape our own list of URLs ready to be tested on SickSubmitter. We'll now test this list to see if we've found Pligg platform social bookmark websites.

    STEP 3
Now, we will need to open SickSubmitter and prepare it to test our list.

Firstly, We'll need to create a profile. You will need a pre-created email account for this. I prefer to use Hotmail accounts. You will want to create a Hotmail account with all the spam filters off. For those of you who have SEnuke X you can use their email account creation tool to get a Hotmail account quickly.

Once you have your pre-created email account just hit the "Generate" button and SickSubmitter will fill in the information fields for you. All you need to do is enter the pre-created email information in the relevant boxes. Make sure you set the Mailbox Settings Provider field to the relevant email type. Mine will say Hotmail as I'm using my pre-created Hotmail account. Once all the information is entered click on "Save As" and name your account something like "Pligg Test Account"

Now we have our account created, we will want to change some General settings on SickSubmitter. Below are the settings I use:

Go to "Options" and make sure the IE Killer and Popup Closer are checked:

    Now onto "IE Options":

    Now onto "Global Settings"
This is where we will add our Captcha solving account to the API. I'm using the ‘Death By Captcha' service. Enter your details into your choice of service, change prioty to "1st Option". Hit Test, and then click on "Save & Exit" at the bottom right.

Just as a safety measure, I like to click back on the "Account Creation Info" tab, then onto the "Captcha" sub tab. Enter the captcha details again, Test then click "Apply to Profile".

    STEP 4
Now we want to turn our scraped Pligg list into a list packet that SickSubmitter can use for the posting. Firstly click on the List Wizard tab. This will open up the wizard, now copy and paste your scraped list into the URL list box. Now we want to add a template for the list. Click on the open file icon in "Select Template" and find the Pligg Template within the SickSubmitter Folder (This is found in SickSubmitter>templates>Bookmark then choose "pligg_bookmark" ). Once done click "Create & Save", I saved mine as, "Pligg Packet to Test".

    STEP 5
Now we need to get the Bookmark Submitter prepped. Click on the Bookmark Submitter Tab and fill in the fields. Once done click "Apply to Profile" Below is an example for you to follow.

These are the settings I normaly go by:
Title: Around 10 words and then I spin it
Description: I normaly use around 55 words and between 275-310 characters and then spin it.
Tags: Whatever relates to your niche.
Catgegories: I use "general" categories, above example I used "Internet", "Technology", "Business" and "Review"

Then the URL list is filled with the backlinks you want to create.

Now onto the Submitter, Open the Submitter SubTab. Click on the site list Open file button and choose your pre-created "Pligg Packet", I saved mine as "Pligg Packet To Test". I then choose the following options:
    Thread Display: Hidden
    Captcha: Auto

Now once all that is set, Choose how many threads you want, mine is set to 30 as I have a 100mb download speed. Check the Register box on Steps. Then click on "Check All" at the bottom. Once all this is done, click "Start"

Once, you have gone through the list, you may want to re-run the test to make sure you pick up incorrect results. So click "Uncheck All" then click "Custom Check" and type in "Fail". Then click Start to re-run your list.

Now you have gone through your list, you will want to delete all the "Fail" results. To do this, click on "Uncheck All", then click on Custom Check and type in Fail. Then right click on your list and choose "Delete Checked Sites"

Once done, you need to un-check the "Register" box in the Steps field, then check "Check Mail". Click on "Check All" and then click on "Start". Once SickSubmitter has checked all the Emails, you're now ready to start posting your bookmarks. To do this you will need to uncheck "Check Mail" and check "Add Bookmarks (Custo..." Go to the bottom and click "Start".

Once this is done, you will want to Uncheck All, click on Custom Check and type in "Fail" and let SickSubmitter perform another re-run. Once this has been done, click on "Uncheck All", then click on "Custom Check" and type in "Fail". Right click your list and click on "Delete Checked Sites".
Then you want to click on "Check All" right click the list and hit "Copy checked Site to clipboard". Paste this into a notepad file and create a new Pligg Template packet (we done this earlier on in the tutorial)

Once all this has been done, you now have your own Pligg list. All you have to do is keep repeating the whole process to improve on your own lists.

    Conclusion

I Hope you have found this helpful. If you need any help, please reply in the thread, hopefully others can chime in and help to. Hopefully this is greated with a good response, if so I will write up a review on scraping and posting to Auto Approved blogs.

Yeah, I tried to make it as newbie friendly as possible. Once someone can go through it once successfully then it will just become second nature.

    Thanks for the feedback!

Great Effort! If you're actively using sick submitter for pligg bookmarking, I would suggest to check out the premium template called Pligg Robot. It's more accurate and it gives the actual bookmark url output too.

Great explanation. But it's not automated for me. I use php and javascript to auto submit my posts to bookmark sites. When the post published, it submits to bookmark sites.

    No worries.

An Addition to the OP. I have now downloaded and tried the add-on "Pligg Robot". SickSubmitter now gives even more accurate results in regards to successful submissions.

Well, we all know social bookmarks are a good addition to any backlink profile. Automating the process of bookmarks (if done right) will save time/money and effort.

    Thanks for the guide, GeeWhiz#1.

What's your success rate for this Pligg bookmarking method?
How many iterations do you need to go through to get a 'good' list?

How successful is Sick for other bookmark sites (e.g. compared to something like Bookmarking Demon)?

Well I haven't used SickSubmitter for around 2 months. I have my own custom program now. It took me a while to create my own list, I got a list up to around 2.5k urls. This was by scraping 24/7 for a while.

Not quite sure what you meant by the last question but I only used sicksubmitter for posting to the pligg platform. It would sometimes give false success out puts but by downloading "Pligg Robot" (I think the latest version is v2 now) you can help reduce this error.
