This guide will teach you how to keep your personal details, credentials, etc. safe for FREE
Antivirus + Firewall + Anti-Keylogging + Malware Scanner
(Avast! Free Antivirus, Comodo Firewall, KeyScrambler FREE and Malwarebytes FREE)
In this guide, i will be showing you how to protect your computer from viruses for FREE. I know there are a lot of methods to protect yourself, but in this guide, i will show you the exact protection i use.
As most of you already know, being connected to the internet exposes your computer to many viruses and hackers who use spyware tools to steal your details, or adware viruses to make money of your PC and much more bad things.
Antivirus
Antivirus software is a software that protects you from viruses and stops them before they enter on your computer. Most of you already know this, so i will keep it short.
For an Antivirus software, i recommend you to use Avast! Free Antivirus. It's one of the best Anti Viruses there, but you must use Avast if you want to use all the other tools i will be writing about in this thread.
Firewall
Firewalls are useful because they block many suspicious connections. Although you have an Antivirus, a virus can still enter your computer. Firewalls can help you block the viruses, especially the spyware viruses from connecting to the attacker, so even if they enter, they will be useless and won't cause much harm to you.
I recommend using Comodo Firewall Free with Avast! Antivirus Free. You can setup Comodo easily to ask you anytime an application tries to connect on the Internet and this feature is really useful. Let's say you download a pirated game and you start playing it. If the game has a virus binded to it, the virus will enter your computer, but when it tries to connect to the Internet, you can block this with Comodo Firewall, so it won't send any personal information about you.
Anti-Keylogging software
Keyloggers are very harmful and they can steal all the information you write with your keyboard, such as passwords, conversations... anything!
Even if you have an Antivirus and Firewall, there are still some FUD (Fully Undetectable) keyloggers that can enter to your computer and steal your personal data.
The best software to protect from keyloggers is KeyScrambler Free. It's a software that will encrypt (scramble) the credentials and any information you enter on your browser. So if you use KeyScrambler and you have a keylogger on your PC, when you go to Gmail for example, when you enter your login credentials, KeyScrambler will encrypt them, so the keylogger will log encrypted data ex. $!#Nhj32hjhj2533 and the attacker will never find out what the password is. It works same for banking details.
Anti-Malware/Scanner
Now when you have Avast, Comodo & KeyScrambler, it's still good to have some extra protection and scan your computer for malware from time to time.
The best tool for this is MalwareBytes FREE. You can install Malwarebytes and run a scan weekly. By running a weekly scan, you increase your protection and you will know that you are safe.
Web Browser Addons/Extensions
The extensions i recommend you to use, for Firefox & Chrome users are PrivDog, AdBlock, AdBlock PLUS, AdBlock PRO and you should also find a Pop Up Blocker.
This increases your security and also blocks advertisements that slow down your computer.
Can you use all of them together?
Yes, i am using them as a combination and there are no conflicts between them. You may be also able to install another Anti Virus, but i haven't tested it. This is still a great protection which is much better than paid Security Software and will protect you from 90% of the viruses online.
Disclaimer: I am in no way affiliated with any of the software vendors, this is posted only for educational purposes. I am not asking you to buy any of this software, it's FREE for everyone.
