Wow that sucks. Good thing I didn't buy any SIM cards yet. I don't even know how to get around thisBasically yes. You just need to be sure your phone is not "locked" with a carrier. Where I live, almost all phone are locked to a carrier and you need to "unlock" the phone to use sim cards freely.
I can't think of any off hand, I'm going to look into thatI live in Canada and I bought Bill Mobility Card from ebay. tried to activate it today. You have to purchase a prepaid plan to activate the card, otherwise the nework will not connect you.
Are there any SIMS that do not require Network activation with old phones?

I'm looking into it right now, the carrier I'm with charges $50 for an unlocking, but after that it seems I'd be good to go. Now I just need to find out whether or not I'll have to put money on each individual sim card or if I can just start using it right away
