How To Write An Article In A Way That It Easily Ranks Without SEO?

Whether it is a newspaper, magazine or a website, writing a remarkable article comes down to 4 things:

  • How creatively you write?
  • The way you take the article?s flow
  • What you have understood and how you are going to explain it to the audience? and
  • How informative it is?
I know how hard it is to rank your keyword-based articles in Google these days. Especially, after the latest update. Don?t be disappointed. What if I tell you that you could rank your article on Google without much SEO efforts? Hard to believe right? But today, I will give a complete guide on things you should do while writing an article. It cannot guarantee top positions but yes, the article will appear between second and fifth page. So, let us get started.

Article Presentation

This is how your article format should be:

1. Main Heading
Should be in either ?h1 tags? or ?h2 tags?

2. Sub Heading

Should be in ?h3 tags?

If this has another subheading, it should be given in ?h4 tags?

If this has another sub heading, give it in ?h5 tags?

3. Place image(s)

Before you upload the image for an article, make sure to rename the image file name into your keyword. Say for example: ?how-to-get-rid-of-pimples.jpg?. Once you upload the image, make sure to fill the 2 boxes listed below:

  • Alt Text Box: Should have your targeting keyword
  • Description Box: Should include 2 lines about your article

Note: Your image should be inserted at the center of an article. Avoid placing images at the top or below. Also, keep a good quality images. If you are not able to afford shutterstock, I suggest you to use www.pixabay.com. It is a great website if you want royalty-free yet high quality images.

4. Install This Plug-in
If you are using Wordpress, install a plug-in named ?Wordpress Seo by Yoast?. This plug-in keeps a track of the below things:

  • Number of times you have inserted the keyword in your article
  • Checks if you have inserted the keyword in the article heading, URL, image?s Alt Text box and so on
Only if you pass all the criteria of this plug-in, you will get a ?Green round? symbol, denoting that you have done your On-page Optimization perfectly. If you do this correctly, your article will come between second and fourth page. However, domain name, its age and authority are yet other vital factors. Hence, this isn?t the only thing, which Google looks for but On-page Optimization does help in ranking.

How You Should Present Your Article To The Readers?

I would want to make it very clear that no matter how perfectly you have done your on-page optimization, if your article quality is poor, it is never going to rank in Google. So, never do the mistake of compromising with the article quality. Now, I am going to tell you the way you should present the article to your audience. Make a note of these tips:

1. Identify What Your Readers Want?

What your readers want to know? How will your article or information help them? Research on the topic you are going to write and try to understand what the readers actually want. Also, see how other authors have written. See their styles.

2. How Creative And Informative Your Article Is Going To Be?

Once you have researched, come with a unique idea and outline how your article is going to be different from them? For any article to work on a search-engine, it has to be very engaging. Let me explain this with an example. Consider an examiner here. Think of how bored he or she will be after going through 50 to 100 exam papers? The key is to keep your article:

  • Simple
  • Understandable
  • Informative

3. Don?t Limit Your Article To Text Alone
If you really want to impress your readers, make sure to use different materials like:

  • Templates
  • Your own created charts
  • Impressive pictures
  • Info-graphics
  • Video
Apart from the above suggestions, use something that helps the readers comprehend the information better.

4. Decide The Article?s Length

This is a very vital part for search engine ranking. According to my experience and research, posts that have 1500+ words tend to rank much faster. But this doesn?t mean, short articles don?t rank. Google considers 200+ factors for ranking. So, word count is just a small yet important part. If your article is too big, make sure to split into pages. Looks neat and at the same times gets page views too.

5. Proofread And Publish

Once you have completed your article, make it a habit to proofread before publishing. Edit the words wherever it is necessary. In the end, your article should be in a way that a reader explains your message.

Cool stuff here. Also, I like the design of your blog. Adding thumbnails would make it look great.

Thanks. Yes, I am working on adding them.

Mediocre writing on "How to write.."?

Im going to try this for payday loans, ill surely rank now :)

I see your sarcasm. It is mostly for long tail magazine site type keywords. I have ranked many without SEO.

Not really sure about the "split article" part.
My thought is I find them very boring to read, and I know I'm not the only one.
I'd rather go with 1 page article and fixed table of content or something like that.

OnPage SEO is still SEO...

You forgot about <title>, which plays a key role in signaling Google what your site is about. For <title> I use the exact phrase (for longtails) or main kw + prefixes and suffixes for longtails to rank all of them at once.

Formatting something like this (h1-hx based on importance/relevancy to main kw and the logical structure of the article):
<h1>Balls</h1>
Intro
<h2>Big Balls</h2>
...
<h3>Basketballs</h3>
...
<h3>Footballs</h3>
...
<h2>Small balls</h2>
...
<h3>Golf balls</h3>
...
<h3>Pinballs</h3>
.....
<h4>Blue balls</h4>
...
<h5>Shrinking testicles</h5>

Also longtails inside paragraphs go in <b> to bring them out.

Google matches each heading and paragraph to the user query and displays correct section in SERPS.

OP is trying to "give back" and you make a joke out of it... These are the real fundamentals that work. Articles written like that work very well on smaller markets (even payday loans).

I think it's rather interesting that your non-SEO guide suggests SEO strategies.

Well isn't it the basics. And yes it is still seo in terms how you use keywords. Same how you actually build up your website content. Only differencesis that this is used on article ... Use it in your blog, add in the optimisation ( if you do affiliate mareting or sell your own poduct )tweak it if it lacks ( use data from analyticcs) and you are good to go.

thanks, great guides writing long articles, but just plain lazy lol.

Good tutorial, keep them coming.
Nice blog as well.

Cheers!
