Many members on BHW are into link building through niche edits (either as a offered service or as a link creator for their own properties). A niche edit, also known as a curated link, is the process of adding a backlink to an existing article or post on a website. Instead of writing a new guest post, you insert your link into a relevant piece of content that's already published. This can be beneficial for SEO and driving targeted traffic.

Here is a simple tutorial which will help you create a niche edit task for any anchor or URL on any webpage using the brilliant capabilities of ChatGPT combined with a free plugin which will help it read the URL. ChatGPT will not only create a sentence that can be naturally inserted into the article, it will also suggest a placement where the sentence should be inserted.

But please note that this method is only available in ChatGPT on a Plus subscription ($20 per month) because it is only there, we can access plugins which equip ChatGPT with the ability to browse the internet and read any webpage of any date.

The Link Reader Plugin which was the first plugin of its kind to browse the internet has since been disabled in the Plugin store due to some privacy issues. However, many plugins are still available which can be used to browse the web using ChatGPT. Two noteworthy plugins are : ‘Web Requests’ and ‘Access Links’. In your ChatGPT subscription, in GPT 4 Tab, you can easily install them by going to the Plugin Store.

For this tutorial, we shall be using the ‘Access Links’ Plugin.

So, once you have installed the Access Links Plugin, read the tutorial and do as directed:-

Steps to Create a Niche Edit with ChatGPT:

a.) You need to provide the following information to ChatGPT (I shall share a prompt in the end)

URL of the Article: The webpage where you want the niche edit.

Keyword: The word or phrase you want to use as anchor text.

Targeted Link: The URL you want the keyword to link to.

b). ChatGPT Process:

ChatGPT will use the Access Links plugin to read and understand the content of the provided URL.

It will then craft a sentence that fits naturally into the article, using the provided keyword as anchor text linking to the targeted URL. It will also suggest a suitable placement in the article where the sentence can be added to appear as a natural part of the article.

To streamline the process, you can use the following template command for niche edits. Here's how:

a. ) Create a Template like this (The exact command you will enter into ChatGPT)

#######################################################

Command: Niche Edit

Parameters:

- URL: {URL of the webpage}

- Keyword: {Keyword to be used as anchor text}

- Targeted Link: {Targeted URL for the link}

Instructions:

1. Use the Access Links plugin to read the content of the provided URL.

2. Understand the theme of the article.

3. Create a sentence related to the theme of the article that can be inserted naturally.

4. The sentence must contain the provided keyword, which will be used as anchor text for linking to the targeted URL.

5. Suggest a suitable placement for the created sentence within the article.

############################################################################

How to Use the Template:

Copy the template.

Replace the placeholders {URL of the webpage}, {Keyword to be used as anchor text}, and {Targeted URL for the link} with the actual values for your niche edit task.

Paste the filled-out template into the ChatGPT prompt box.

ChatGPT will then carry out the task as instructed.

Here is a small youtube video wherein I have explained the process through an example on ChatGPT itself :

I hope some members will find the above useful.
