Hello everyone,
I'll start off with my introduction. I'm a graphics designer with over nearly 2 years of experience. Along with that, I'm also a UI/UX Designer who aims to produce visually appealing, professional, and sleek looking user interfaces. I'm also a very quick learner and I aim to dedicate my time and decency to what I do. Not about graphics designing but after being registered on BHW, I came across a lot of contents that really taught me many different things. So, I’m hereby today to post a guide regarding Fundamentals of UI Design.
The guide would be in different parts and I'll try my best to keep it short and simple. The first part that I’d be covering today would be white space. So, without any delay, I’d get into the topic.
Fundamentals of UI Design – Part I: White Space
White space is the blank zone around, inside, or between the components of a design. It isn’t considered to be that superstar of UI design but a visually appealing UI design can’t exist without white space. One of the most straightforward ways to give UI a clean look would be giving elements decent room to breathe.
So, below are few more reasons to use white space in UI Design:
1. Creates Distinction
White space, in conclusion, give the visitors a proper distinction of the contents display on the user interface. A higher amount of white space could be given to provide a more clear distinction of elements/blocks.
2. Improves Focus
Decent amount of white space between two elements could catch the attention of the visitors on that particular element/block.
3. Creating close relationships
A smaller amount of white space between any two elements could be provided so to let visitors know that those two blocks/elements relate to each other in some way.
4. Increases Comprehension
Use of white space on the right and the left side of any paragraph seems to increases comprehension thus making visitors more easy and comfortable to go through the paragraph.
In the upcoming part, we’ll be talking about Typography in UI Design which obviously is going to be in-depth detail.
Thank you for reading until the end.
Regards
